In any case, never back down just because your afraid to loose (not saying you are), give it your best, and commend the winner without any excuses. (however I doubt that if you win, the euro boy will congrats you, based off personal experience).

I'm pretty sure you can take him. I'm not sure what a stage one consist of but it can't be much. My bud has a 04 SRT-4 and he ran a 13.9 with only a shifter done. They are quick but if you have bolt on's you have nothing to worry about. There are some SRT's out there that will take some modded LS1's there is a silver one around here I hope I don't run into.

the 04 srt4 comes stock with the "stage1" . you must feel kinda bad needing to come on ls1 tech and ask about a neon.

anyhoo, go beat him. run your race not his. FROM A STOP.

stage 1 does not come with 04-05's. It is a different stage 1 then the 03's though as the 04-05 have bigger injectors. They both get a differint ECU.

We have one here that runs an upgraded turbo and a 80 shot...on slicks went low 12s at the track. My buddies Cobra ran mid 12s on radials and we set the Neon out 3 with a flag and won by 1....track and street are two different animals when it comes to front wheel drive turbo cars. Go kick his A$$

You will walk him a little bit down low...When you get up to about 65-80mph...you will really start to walk him. If he only has stage 1 then he should be around mid 13's@~103...He shouldnt give you much trouble. Take his money and tell him to buy a real car!

thats a good point, maybe you should practice racing a little more before run him. or if thats not the problem, ditch the street tires and get some drag radials.

Race him and find out. By the way, with a 106 trap you should be high 12s. Little more stick time would do you some good.

I dont know where u get mid 13's with stage one. I have 2 buddies with srt4s. One with stage 2 is running 13.9s and the other with stage 2 and slicks is running 13.2.

neons are pretty quick, but need quite a bit to whip a ls1. about 2 months ago I race a blk neon, the guy came up on me pretty fast, then paced me at 70, he then punched it and so did i, i pulled on him pretty good, i shut it down at 135 and i had about 2 1/2 cars on him.
mods: 92z28 a4 stage 2 chip, headers, custom exhaust, highflow cats, intake
can't wait to race one in my 05 gto

Your 2 buddies need some help driving or need an exhaust. Stage 2 is useless without an exhaust. I ran a 13.4@103.22 with JUST an exhaust. Stage 1 has been tested by MANY other srt folks and it has knocked off about .5 in the quarter. Tell your buddies to look into their cars more often because they dont know how to drive or mod a turbo 4 banger.

Also, if they are modded correctly both of them should be at high 12's with slicks and very low 13's with street tires. I think they are both running stock exhaust taht is why they didnt see any gains with their Stage 2.

actually ur rite, about one of em, my friend running 13.2 didnt do that with slicks, but the other one still ran a 13.9 with stage 2 and yes he had exhaust, he said he just spun the whole time, so i guess he prob needs to learn how to drive.
