Default Killed by a CL600...DAMN!

Sunday afternoon on my way to work (overtime), took the camaro out since it was a nice day, clear roads. Not many cars on the road, and I was in the left lane (2-lane road) doing around 75. I see a black 2001 or 2002 M-B CL600, not the Bi-turbo V12, the NA one in the right lane. I accelerate to pull up next to him. I pace him for a second to get his attention, then punch it in 5th, slowing down again to see if he will pull up next to me or fall back. Sure enough, he accelerates a little to match me and we are side by side. I look at him and see him laughing at me but not looking and his woman is in the passenger seat seemingly giving him **** for wanting to run? Without warning he puches it, and thankfully I was in 3rd ready to run so he only got a half second jump. As it turns out, that is all he needed. I managed to stop his pull from 75-100 at which point I has to shift, which allowed him to pull away considerably. From 100-120 when he shut down, I think I managed to stop his pull again, but he was already 2-3 cars in front of me. Damn, I'm a really slow shifter I suspect. I can almost say one-onethousand in between gears during shifting. I guess I can move faster but I am afraid to bang the shifter and clutch and gas and create too much driveline shock. Anyways, a death...

Practice your shifting. If you're stock ya ain't gonna break anything.

BANG THAT ****!!! You're not gonna break anything at 70mph. It's not like you are dead hooking on a drag strip.

If you see how hard I rodded my T/A the 2 years after I bought it, you'd find out it was nearly indestructable in stock form. The only thing that gave out was the clutch with 50k miles of HARD, HARD, abuse.

Granny shifting. not double clutching like you should....

MB makes some crazy cars, I saw a CL60 (I think that's the model) with drag radials on it run a 7.9 at my local 1/8th mile track and he had his two kids in the backseat
