Well this morning I took out a nice red Evo VII. the guy driving it was REAL cool too. he looked like a doctor, or somr professional person. We went on a roll from about 50mph on 232 South just past Philmont Ave, he nailed me for a few seconds, then I walked him pretty good. At 120 when we closed it off I had I'd say slightly less than a bus on him, which I was REAL surprised about. Maybe a little more or less give or take, I am not sure. I'm thinkin maybe he didnt hit it all the way, cause his car was in PRISTINE condition. But then again I dont knwo much about the Lancer's, so whatever. We chatted at the red light by Moredon road after, and he was definetely a neat dude, he was telling me he has a Yellow Targa-top C5 also that runs 11's at Atco, and old 1980 something Porsche.
Anyway it was a BEAUTIFUL day today. 70 degrees, first time without the t-tops this year! My evo race topped it off too!

nope it was Evolution VII on the rear end. But you know I may have mistaken it, we were movin at a nice clip. pretty sure it was VII though. They are rare?
yeah they are very rare.
i think there's less than 15 in the entire US right now. There were more imported over, but the guy who did most of the imports got in trouble for some paperwork and lots of evo 7's got reclaimed.

Also, some people buy the UK badge from the EVO VII and put it on their VIII. The only real way to tell if its a 7 or not was to know the difference int he front bumper, the wheels, and if the hood vent was split into two vents instead of one.

Oh, I know what you saw. People that wanted to get rid of the Lancer Evolution badge and put on the UK badge on only had VII at the time, VIII wasn't made yet. The thing is they only had the VII badge available for the longest time, now the VIII badge is out. It was an Evo VIII with a UK VII badge in big letters across the trunk. So it was an VIII.

there are different variations of emblems that you can buy and put on. some say EVOLUTION VIII some say VII
some dont say anything except for a small bit down int he left hand corner of the trunk that says: evolution 8
so who knows.
So what exactly is with the new model every year or two anyway? Is that a japanese thing? A mitsubishi thing? (I think nissan does it too)
I mean every car manufacturer changes SOMETHING on the car every year, even if it's just as subtle as the lack of honeycomb grill in the 97 mustang GT vs the 96 (yes, I know that, I used to be a mustang fanatic). It's not like GM renamed the SS the "SS2" in 98 when it got an ls1 and a new bodystyle, or the "SS3" in 99 when it got different injectors and pcm. there was no "SS4" in 01 when it got a new intake and cam.. etc.. etc...

the thing with the EVO is that it evolves like those japanese monsters. they actually do have differences, looks and performance. who really understands the japanese anyway? ive seen some things from japan in mags and internet and they are into some weird stuff.

If I am mistaken then I apologize, but that was pretty funny. I can picture you saying that in some Texas accent, 'them japenseeese are intuh sum weeerd stuff.'
