Default Another Z06

Silver Z06 Corvette runs me down as I was going home for lunch from work. Two guys with spiked blonde hair, earrings, mirror shade, and pretty momma's boys ... top down. They run me down on the 4-lane and just as they come up behind me, I nail it. They were grinning ear-to-ear. I just watched their smiles fade to serious looks of "oh! ****!!!" ... as the Z06 faded in my rearview.

At the next light, about 1/4 mile up the road, they pull up beside me, smile and give me a thumbs-up ... shaking their headsup and down. They turned around after congratulating me ... the same as I do if someone beats me. I wish everyone had that kind of respect for a good race ...

That makes me feel good after a little sprint on the roads, a thumbs up from the opponent. It just lets you know that real performance is appreciated. Most of the ricer ******** around won't even acknowlege you, they just will do the fly-by. BTW, how do you like your cam? I'm currently looking for one for my daily driver that has a slight lope to it, but not too aggressive. do you think the 220/220 is alright?

Nice kill.

They probably should've got you though since the Z06 makes the same power you do and is lighter. It pays to know how to drive.

You know what...I didn't even see him say "top down". Good observation.
So it was a good kill against a (most likely stock) C5.

if the top was down most likely, you beat a C5 that possibly had the Z06 inserts and or Z06 wheels maybe....

you don't see to many people hack the top off the Z06 to make it convertible.

I guess you never say never. Lol!

Though in this case, I'm pretty sure this was a dressed up C5. Still a great kill, but mistaken identity. Like shooting a black bear when you're hunting grizzlies...

I was just kidding. My buddy's car is a non Z06 C5. There are NO Z06 convertibles from GM. I've seen the top chopped by an aftermarket company before though.

Funny! Looking at this makes me really think about the runs I've had with C5's. Recently dyno'd my car (before Programming) and don't know if my 321.4 rwhp is respectable with my bolt ons or not. I guess I expected more.

Great Kill on a C5 (non Z06) car. Always fun to beat a C5.

Went to the Outlaw Meltdown a couple weeks ago. Street cars are so slow in comparison.

Naw, it was a Z06 ... don't know what you call the color but it sort of a bronzish-silver. When it was behind me, I just noticed it had no top and in my rearview ... top down, top off, whatever. Emblem on the front right side when they came up beside me was a Z06 emblem. I've outran several stock C5's when I had shorty's, cats, no stall converter, regular LS1 intake, non-ported TB. I know how they run.

There's another silver Z06 in town that I smoke every month. He 's a good dude, as well ... jumped on me when my car was basically stock and roasted me. About a year later, he ran me down and I nearly ate up his bumper ... when I had no cam, shorty's, cats, no stall converter, regular LS1 intake, non-ported TB. Search and you'll see the kill story I posted. Right as we both let off the gas, he start tp pull on me ... but he never knew it and I wasn't about to tell him ...

Anyway, C5's normally run high 12's to low 13's depending on the driver and track conditions. It was a Z06.

Am I the only one that caught that? I didn't know you could "drop" the top on a Z06 without a cutting torch or the jaws of life, lol.

EDIT: Oops, I'm not the only one that caught that. Wouldn't it cost a lot of money to turn a Z06 into a vert?
