ls1 vs. lt1
I dont see the lt1 having a chance anless he has heads and cam setup or atleast alot of nitrous...I have a ls1 and when I just had intake and exhaust I ran with a head and cam lt1 and got him by a car it sounded like he knew how to drive and Im not the worst of drivers... lt1's and ls1's aretwo different ball parks as all of you know there's a good 40 to 50 rwhp gap between the two bone stock....

Do a little more research buddy. H/C needed to take a I/E LS1

Word, a properly set up H/C LT1 would rape a bolt on LS1. I know this is a LS1 site but give your older siblings a little respect, eh?!? Some of the stuff I've heard on here lately makes me want to keep my LT1, mod the hell out of it, and drive over to show you what a LT1 can do. There are several LT1s out there with H/C and around 430 rwhp so the LT1 does have some potential, believe it or not.

1996 LT1 M6 should have about 260 rwhp stock. Add 25 rwhp for LT headers, 10 rwhp for cutout, 8 rwhp for intake, 10 rwhp for roller rockers and I'm just guessing on TB bypass but I'll say 5 rwhp (correct me if I'm wrong on that). That gives you a 313 rwhp LT1 with 4.10 gears clutch and shifter.

1999 Z28 M6 should have about 300 rwhp stock. Add 10 rwhp for cutout and 10 rwhp for air intake (assume you mean a lid). That gives you a 320 rwhp LS1 with clutch and shifter.
The small HP advantage of the LS1 is easily eaten by the gears so I would have to say this is a drivers race but I kind of like the LT1's chances of edging out the LS1 if drivers are equal. Should be a good race so let us know the results if it ever takes place.
