What makes the LS1 a better car imho is the fact that it isnt such a PITA to mod. 50rwhp is nothing a good cam and a few bolt-ons cant fix, but with the LT1 it is mcuh messier. I was looking into modding when i had my LT1 TA and it just made me sick looking at prices and what needed to be done to do what (gears=new carrier for the 3.73's from 2.73's) and a ECU flash. Etc. etc. etc. my 5.0 is MUCH MORE mod friendly, but the LS1 isnt near as hard to deal with as the LT1 (Opti-spark...crank driven water pump...etc. etc.) I like them both, and for the price, the LT1 F-bod is a GREAT car. most people with the M6's claim 13.9 @ low 100's from my experience in talking to different people. Fast in my book.

you can go from 2.73's to 3.73's without changing the carrier on an lt1 car they make gears that work for the 2 series carrier

There are infact some factory freak Lt-1s as well. For example my brother's stock 1995 Vette A4 with 100k miles on it ran a 13.056 @ 105 on street tires. This was on a very cold night and all the conditions were perfect for the run. This was also his first run before the weather got really cool as well that night. He hit something slick on the track and thought his transmission was slipping so he did not run it anymore that night. So he very well could have hit a 12 second quarter that night.

Is'nt that an Lt4 and not an Lt1 ? if it is then thats a different story.I believe the Lt4 Vettes would give an stock Ls1 a run for it's money.

Nope it is in fact a LT1. LT4's are known to dyno around the same as a stock LS1 if not higher.

you definately sound like an ***, being the fact he use to own a s/c camaro and is a moderator for the lt-1 section. maybe next time you can think before you type.
