Me too, but unfortunately the laughing is usually followed by a distinct feeling that my IQ is dropping with each retarded post that I read.

I just had an incredible 5 days of racing a real race car around Sebring and Daytona. After coming off NASCAR turn 2 WOT in 5th gear and threshold braking/ double clutch downshifting/ trail braking into a high speed 3rd gear chicane, street racing seems like a real petty thing to me now. I don't care who's running what on the street anymore.
By the way, nice death to the post starter! Get that Evo next time.

I'd rather him hit max boost when we're side-by-side, not 3 cars ahead after he raped me outta the hole.

Enis,

You're right, I think I just lost a few more brain cells.

That's why I haven't tried road racing - I anticipate it becoming an even more expensive addiction than the modding I do now.

You guys know the 05 EVO MR has a 6 speed right and all the 06 will get it too? That should give them the gearing to get a little closer stock and when the mods come on I am not to sure they are that much slower than a LS1. It sound like the LS1s are starting to show some age if they are running up against 4 bangers. I will need to see because I might get one for a DD and keep the Iroc for the nice days.

All age and the passing of time does is guarantee it'll be less likely the next one you come across is stock.

6 speed will make no difference against an LS1 stock for stock. Evos put down around 220-230 whp. I've heard about the MR but I don't think they have any power helpers. They still don't compare to an LS1, power wise.

Of course LS1s are starting to show their age. They're now pretty much defunct, there are no new LS1-powered cars, GM has moved on to the LS2 as it's base performance V-8 now. But who cares? Look at fox body Mustangs. Stock, they're slow as dirt. But how many stock fox bodies do you know of? The LT1 is becoming that way, and in a few more years the LS1 will be the same way.

Unless youre running sticky tires you'll get ripped out of the hole and be forced to play catchup which is NOT a good position to be in in a street race.
The loss on having awd is no worse than having an auto LS1. Evo's are not topend monsters because they don't make a lot of power stock. You can make 400awhp with the stock btw, and can hit full boost by 3000 rpm. It's the ones with upgraded turbo's that are the real topend monsters.
