T45 manual transmissions do not have stalls.

The T45 itself is stock, except I have a hardened input shaft (used to break them like pretzels). The clutch is stock 11" unit, and it is attached to an aluminum flywheel (helps the input shafts live). The 8.8 has a Detroit Locker and 31 Spline axles. The driveshaft is aluminum.

I will gladly go into any detail you wish. I have no secrets, and everything I've done (of any significance) is on my website.

I am not at the same power level of equally-modded LS1's. In fact, I'm 20-30 RWHP short of most of the fastest ones.

Please ask away...I'll be glad to answer.

quote:
Just because people like the 03 Cobra and it's power while stock, doesn't require anyone to complain that it's supercharged and ask "what if?" The fact is, Ford produced a powerful Cobra and it runs well w/o modifications. When modified, they clearly perform even better. There's already been low 11's and even mid 10's posted from 03 Cobras. Not bad for a car that's only been aroud 5 months. What's even better is, the engines are still 100% stock beneath the valve covers. So let's not knock it with "what if's" because the facts is, that doesn't get too far. "What if," isn't what IS... amazing how 1 letter changes everything.

Anyway, compare them though we will, we really should keep the one-sided ideas out of it. Besides, that keeps people from reminding others that the Z/28 has a much larger engine, is allot lighter, and so forth. There's much more to the equasion btw, than you're considering when it comes to adding a s/c, even a low boost version like the Eaton. They're supercharged....let it go. At least it's a truly powerful American car, few of which are produced anymore, while being even close to affordable.

u know what is a shame that ford had to put a blower on there 281 just to run with the ls1's. if u think about it and any takers bring your 03's to me and take the blower belt off and we will run r i put my little blower on my car and presto 1200 psi later and it is smack down.

Hey guys. What would happen if Bob had a 03 cobra? He would probably be in the tens with boltons already. All i have to say is that there are two kinds of racers."There are drag racers and there are people that take there car to the track and drag race"

Thats why you see some cobras running 13.8 and some running 12.4 with the same mods.

Bob,

If your race weight is 3225 lbs. you have obviously taken out a bunch of weight. What all have you removed to get your Cobra to move? I'd love to line up and race you. Too bad we live so far apart.

Hi Mike. Yes, I have lost about 350 lbs from when the car was bone stock new. Here's a list, best I can remember...weights are approximate, and are also from memory:

IRS to live axle (85 lbs)
Centerline wheels (50 lbs)
Manual Cloth Seats from 95 V6 Mustang (35 lbs)
Spare/jack (35 lbs)
Rear seat delete kit (30 lbs)
Dynobatt battery (25 lbs)
Replace Mach 460 with aftermarket stereo (25 lbs)
Driver diet (20 lbs)
Front Swaybar (15 lbs)
Baer S/S brakes (12 lbs)
Remove rear wing (8 lbs)

You should come up to our little grudge race. It is for nothing more than fun and a bit of bragging rights. As I said in the thread devoted to the race, I don't really have anything for the quicker A4's, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Bob,

I'm not sure where the North vs. South Shootout is going to be. Probably in the Midwest somewhere if I had to guess, which is a little further than I care to travel to race. I will be at the Spring Break Shootout in San Antonio on March 9 running in the 11.00 to 11.99 index class if you care to venture down South.

N vs S is in Bowling Green, KY. That's an 800 mile ride for me, which I'm willing to do. I'm not willing to do the 1500 miles to SA. Sorry.

OK Mustang guys. This one is for you. I am a converted Mustang guy myself. The biggest reason is Ford's horrible quality. I'd rather them spend more on the interior instead of spending it all under he hood. I'd pay more for a stang with better quality. Anyway, the last stang I had was truely a killer. I'd stand it up to any LS1 around here! Here are the basic specs:

1992 Mustang LX 5.0
Engine: 306ci (.030 over) mexican block
Heads: Trick Flow Stage II
Cam: E303
Headers: BBK Equal Length Shorty
Pistons: Keith Black 8.5:1
Rods: I forget but they were the good ones
Rockers: 1.6 Aluminum Rollers
Intake: Cobra upper and lower
Fuel: 30lbs injectors, all after market MASS and stuff
Induction: ProCharger 17psi Intercolled
Tranny: World Class T-5

OK, enough. It had a lot more but I don't have 10 pages. It dynoed at 613RWHP. Best ET was 10.56 at 134 MPH. Now, spank that! :0)

Anyway, after about a month of hard driving and racing I cracked the block in half, litteraly. I sold what was left and bought my current car, a 2000 Camaro SS. I can't say enough about this ride. It has quality throughout and has one hell of a good acceleration. Guess who I'll be calling soon??? Does ProCharger have a kit for the LS1????

Mustangs are good, but now I like beating them There is nothing like the look on the face of the 17 year-old kid racing me in his dad's stang gt when I power past him like he might as well be driving a Hyundai.

Regards,
