Re: Supercharged Mustang You mean the new Cobras? The best I've seen personally at the track was a 12.6 stock on a drag radial. I've heard stories about them running quicker, but that's the best I've seen.
I have yet to run one on the street, but if the best it's doing stock is 12.6, it'd better have some mods coming up aganist my LS1 if it wants to win <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Supercharged Mustang Nothing to be worry about, If one ever beats you buy NOS dry shot 75 or 100 or 315 tires and bye bye mustange. If you are a automatic then only a good driver in the Mustange can hang will you as every time he shifts he will fall back 1/2 a car.

Re: Supercharged Mustang I've seen a few at the track. None of them even broke 12's. I'm not sure if they were on tires or not. Either way, that's still pretty bad. I'm not saying they aren't quick. They are. My buddy has one with Bassani exhaust, a chip and a Lightning pulley (and HRE 545's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ). He put down 440rwhp on the dyno. He's severly traction limited with 18" inch wheels and Yokohama tires. I can tell that it would haul *** if it would hook. In all honesty, there's no way my slightly modded Z28 could hang with it.

Re: Supercharged Mustang I must have run into the wrong one then. This guy had full exhaust, chip, pulley, and some nice 19" HRE's. Needless to say that I didn't stand a chance. They are some nice cars.

Re: Supercharged Mustang I pretty sure I could beat my friend's '03 Cobra just because he is on 18" rims with street radials. My A4 Z28 would hook and be gone before he could find any traction. It would be a different story at the track on tires. Those cars have serious potential.
We've been over this one a million times though. Give me the extra $14K he paid for the Mustang. We all know what $14K in mods will do for a LS1.

Re: Supercharged Mustang A comparably equipped 02 Z/28(SS with options to match the standard Cobra package) doesn't cost even remotely 14K less than an 03 Cobra. When I checked listings before the Z was gone, there was only about a 3K price difference. You simply have to compare model for model if you're going to talk about how much price difference there is. Otherwise, you're showing nothing more than bias. Not that I care who's bias, but don't mix apples with oranges and expect sweet tea.... <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I'm not concerned with options. The powerplant is where the comparison lies. My buddy's Cobra is a 'vert hence the $37K compared to my $23K Z28. I guess you're right though. Fully optioned SS's were around $29K compared to roughly $32K for a Cobra coupe.

Yes this thread is old as hell. I was just bored and wanted to time travel back to the early days of tech and the SRK section. It's just funny/interesting to read and see how the times have changed since '02. Called it an "Eaton Supercharged Cobra" haha, before anyone knew what Terminators were about.
