'03 Cobra

'03 Cobra I must say that I am pretty impressed with the '03 Cobras. I had my first race with one the other night.
It was Saturday night, and on my way home from a local street racing spot, I see an '03 Cobra on the highway. My buddy spotted it first, and pointed it out, so I got beside him at about a 70 mph roll. I put it into second (A4), and gave him a couple blips. He seemed like he didn't want to play, so I eased away from him to just go around him. Then I heard him get on it, so I did the same. I had a fender on him for about 5 seconds, and during that 5 seconds, I was wondering how my stock T/A was beating a Cobra. Anyway, it was a quick 5 seconds, and before I knew it, he had two cars on me. So, we let off, and I got beside him to tell him I was impressed. He was a cool guy, so we exchanged thumbs up, and I went home with my tail between my legs.
I hate losing, but at least now I know what an '03 Cobra is capable of doing to me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Re: '03 Cobra Good race, just a hint of advice though: don't race manual trans cars from a roll over 40mph. Autos are great but typically they are only good from a dig not a roll, unless of course you have a huge stall converter like a 4400 or something. I think the 03 Cobra is a bad a$$ car, no doubt...keep your head up. Get a stall converter and some tires and race him again from a dig!

We kill most 6sp from a dead stop, but from a roll it`s a little tuf. But thats what my spray is for when I need it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> Good Race! Get some mods and then you will see something differant. A Stall alone can put a stock LS1 into high 12`s. Good Luck!

Re: '03 Cobra I knocked the snot out of a 03 Cobra from a 20-100mph run about two months ago. The driver was really kewl and gave me the thumbs up.
I don't think I would have won off a roll if I still had my 2001 WS6 A4, and it ran a best of 11.90@112. I used to lose to bone stock M6's on the freeway with the A4.

Anywho, good run Nick. The 2003 Cobras are in fact (even though its hard to say) faster cars than a stock LS1, so there is no shame in losing to one. But a few bolt-ons later, and the tables start to turn. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
