Default A couple of kills

On the way home from the Hooter's cruise yesterday I pass by a Harley. He guns it like he wants to play. We are doing about 70. I drop it into 3rd and he goes bye bye. I look in my rearview and can see him with an animated expression and clenched teeth trying to keep up. I think he knew what he had in store for him when he challenged. He got up next to me and gave me a honk of the horn and a thumbs up....cool dude.

Other kill was today. I am goin down Bay Area and I am in the far left lane and I can see a late model SS in the far right turn lane. I think to myself....I hope he doesn't turn. He didn't. I catch him at a light but the light turns green and there is still residual traffic ahead so we both playfully punch it knowing there is no room to run. I catch him at the next light. I let him go to see if he wants the jump. He takes it, I hammer it. Have to short shift because of traction. 2nd gear grabs nicely and I start pulling strongly and hit 3rd and let up. I had him by at least 2 cars. Catch him at the next light and we go again with the same results. We ended up with open road ahead and I downshifted to see if he wanted to go from a roll. I guess he had had enough because he didn't bite at that. So I pulled off hoping he would do the same to chat. He kept on cruising, Wasn't the best place to go but the road ahead was wide open It was a nice Black SS....damn black looks good if I do say so myself. If you are on this forum....nice runs and nice car.

John,
You know I was pulling your chain. As you know, there is now way a stock f-body will hang with a ZO6. And yes we need to line up so we can see if a bolt on car with a cam can hang or if us f-body folks need a heads/cam car to beat a ZO6.
I've heard conflicting info regarding this and we can expose the truth. We can go from a dig and from a roll and see what happens with my current mods. Then we will know about what a f-body needs to be competitive.
I may not have enough done yet without the LS6 intake, underdrive pulley and throttle body? Also I am running thru cats and have stock gears, so there are a lot of variables. I could just do an intake and that may be a deciding factor, or an underdrive pulley, or just gears. Any one of these things by itself or combined with the other will make a big difference with my current mods, but are they neccessary to hang with a ZO6? We don't know...

Chris,
This will be a private party so to speak. We don't want an audience or anyone else distracting us from our test. We simply want to see if my modded SS can beat or hang with a stock ZO6. We will look at racing from a dig and a roll. If anyone blows the launch or shift, we will redo the race. The idea is to get two good runs to determine where the f-body stands next to ZO6. This not a opportunity for you to spray on GMs, but rather a comparison we want to do.
You have other opportunities for that.
