Hey, I ran into a 540i with the same results. I was heading home through the back roads. Exiting out of the curvey roads, I finally had a long stretch of road to where I encountered the BMW. I noticed him stomping on the gas with the same white smoke exiting the tail pipes. I had to show'em. Once I pulled up next to him he had all the driving accessories, sunglasses, driving gloves, radar detector, etc.. From a roll I walked him and kepted him in back of me. it felt good too! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

 

I am not much of a street racer and I am still shaking down the new engine but I could not resist tangling with this guy. I was on my way home when he pulled up next to me at the light. When it turned green he launched and pulled in front of me in my lane. I am still not sure he wants to race but then I see white smoke pour out of his pipes so now I know. I tromp it and let the 4l60E pick its own gear and move right up on his bumper. He is pushing hard but is not pulling on me at all and I still have lots of room left. We do this up to about 75 and then both back off. He moves to the other lane so I can pull up next to him at the next light and gives me a big smile and the thumbs up. Not much of a kill but it was my first and its nice to know I can chew on the 540 if I want to.

any LS1 should destroy a 540i, they run like 14.3-14.4@97-99mph.
