NickMaple- u missed my point on the cheaper aspect. i can get a civic hb for about 4gs, get a b18c motor installed for 4gs, get a turbo and tuning put on it for about 5gs. still have a shitload of money left. i would beat the **** outa an ls1. still be about 10-15 grand cheaper than one also! what dont u understand?

Sometimes it is pointless to argue with a narrow mind. They refuse to except the fact, that you can make a civic faster than an ls1 for a little amount of money(under 10,000).

I to have seen countless of civics that would rival the looks of an ls1.

That of course is your opinion. Me on the other hand, beg to differ. I do drive an SS, but I also have friends that drive imports. A civic can be an attractive car, with the proper styling(no big wings and stickers).

Why do you think alot of people choose to buy civics? Also, why are they one of the most widely used vechicles to mod. I am not the one to down any American made vechicle, but there must be a reason they discontinued the camaros.

A well equipped civic or integra can easily be up there in price(over 20,000). So I would not think price is the reason.

In my opinion, I think it is great to have a style of your own. Meaning having the ability to pic and choose different styles of bodykits, hoods, headlight conversions, etc.

People just need to understand that, it would be boring as hell with just camaros and mustangs roaming the streets. I just like diversity. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I've owned, Mitsu Eclipses, 5.0 L 'Stangs, and Civics. None have equaled the trill of riding shotgun in my buddy's brand new '89 5.7L TPI IrocZ when growing up, being pressed against the seatback in smoking, rubber-scorching launches, or going up 11 years later to Daytona with the same friends in my '02 SS, backs pressed against the seat in smoking burnout launches... the sound of a 5.7L V8, thumping torque out the ying yang,
going up to see cars in America's greatest race with 5.7L engines.
No rice burning weed eater can deliver those moments. Closed minded? Maybe. Proud owner of a Z28 SS? Damn straight.

F**K the cost of the car. When I talk money, I mean how much money it takes to make a stock car fast. Reguardless of how much it cost. Now, in these terms, the Civic HB would still be a turd after 3,000 in mods, whereas an LS1 with 3,000 in mods will be running low 12's if not 11's. Plus, Civic HB's are the ugliest cars I think I have ever seen.

Here's a quick one for you Thunder2k1, I think it was MM&FF that spent a little over 5000 and put an older 5.0 in I want to say either the 10's or the 11's, I can't remember. You will never see that happen in the import world, unless you get your **** for free.

P.S.: That 5000 includes the cost of purchasing the car.

civics look better than camaros im sorry. u cant even style a camaro, their all the same. thier big and bulky. sorry but the stang looks way better. yes the camaro is the fastest, but if your goin for looks go somewhere else. no offense

Honestly I think they both look terrible. Civics are econo cars and F-Bodys... they just have no appeal to me. The only current American made car that I like to look at is the C5 / Z06 Vettes. I do have to give the F-Bodys props for performance and sound. I'd have to say if I had the choice between one or the other it wouldn't even be a choice. How can you seriously compare or prefer a 4 cyl, front wheel drive econo-box to a high powered muscle car?

Civics are for girls and high school kids.

Read this thread from the beginning and it's pretty funny- goes from a kill(ed) story, to "your car is more expensive to mod than my car" and "oh yeah, but you exaggerate more about your ET's than me" to "oh yeah, but I'll beat you on street tires" to "oh yeah but your car is uglier than mine". I'll be the first to say- OH YEAH, BUT MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD!!

Cars and performance are about $$- Speed ALWAYS costs $$. You'll always hear the stories about a 10 second, $200 beater, but you have to wonder how many 10 second passes you can make on a stock clutch, bad tires, stock rear, stock block car. I'd guess not many- It costs lots of $$ to have a consistently fast car.

Props to the honda guy- he made that thing fly. I personally don't care for the whole import scene, but a loss is a loss- period. That guy's obviously got the $$ and some knowledge.

Yeah my cousin has a swapped civic...with the integra motor and a 5 speed. Very fast. We killed an IS300 in it in February. But hey I would still rather roll in an fbody.
