With 240-260rwhp you could have taken a stock LS1 with a poor driver for sure. I never call BS until I know the "given" facts...hell it's the internet....things are better when you just believe people. btw- I don't really have a Trans Am.

And yes, all Z28 camaro's have V8's, but it could have been an LT1(93-97) which are definitely not as fast as the LS1's (98-02), and it could have been an auto and/or the the girl could just not not how to drive or maybe she wasn't going full tilt or maybe it wasn't even really a Z28.....you get the point...a properly driven bone stock LS1 would likely take you if you only have 240whp, if you have 260 it could be a close race but I still think you'd lose, but either way you definitely wouldn't be pulling one like that.

First off, I love LS1's. I think they're one of the best cars for the money ever made. I've definitely taken my share of deaths/kills, but it seems a few people on here are incredibly close-minded. I understand the arguement it may have been a V6 or it was a V8. That doesn't bother me. The fact that you would demean girls by saying 1.) They can't drive 2.) They drive auto's 3.) They probably don't even know what sort of engine they have in that thing. That entire story may be 100% correct, but if she would have won what would you guys have said then? It's guy's stereotypical B.S. like that which makes us look bad. The last F-body I lost a race was against a girl and trust me, this girl knew how to drive.

Funny how every time any other car (mainly import) beats a Camaro at a race there is almost always some excuse as to why it got beat. Good kill and good luck on some upgrades, I built a 92 NSX with a Blue Bird engine, made over 180 at the wheels through an auto and dead stock.

I built the NX for a customer, was a nice little driver, was making over 220whp @ 12lbs, the trans wouldn't hold high boost.(over 130k on it)

i do think there are a lot of 240sx haters here, and not to mention DSM haters. its because of their potential to be fast like an ls1 is...if a guy has a fast car and its a 240sx dont be gay about it, and if its slower dont make fun of it more than you might any car.

lots of people think it was BS but 240-260whp and the car weighing about 2700 pounds stock is pretty good, not to mention if you do simple weight reduction on that car you can drop 150 pounds in minutes. i doubt it was a v6 by the way he told the story, and he could easily get a jump on the girl from a roll if he got into a good powerband against an auto. i would say that this guy probably does have the better part of 260 whp because of his FMU, and especially if it were a lt1 i could see him laying a whipping to it.

I hate 6 bangers with Z28 badges. When I was car shopping for a z I saw a 99 z28 camaro online for a good price. So I set up a test drive. I get there, looks like a z, has dual exhaust, badges etc. So I get in and fire it up, red flag went up. It didnt sound like an 8. So I ask, "This is a z28?" "Yes," she replies, "Its a z28." Take it out hit the gass, seems a little slow. "You shure this is a z28?" Again, "YES." Get back to the lot and pop the hood, and low and behold its a 6 banger. So I said, "PEACE OUT!" Thanks for wastin my time biatch. Nothing against 6cyl, but I wanted an 8 cyl. I cant be too mad at this girl, she just had no clue.

SR20s are no joke, they can be pretty powerful. In this case, the power isn't all there but the weight of the car and the driver factor make the kill definitely possible.

Everyone who is calling bs, you are bunch of idiots. A 240 only weighs about 2800 pounds. He is easily pulling 240-250 rwhp with his mods. He shouldn't have any problem walking away from a stock z28. Those cars can be made very fast without all that much effort with a sr20 motor in them.
