Come on Bronco you know as well as anyone here I think that all that matters is peak horsepower numbers. Thats the be all end all in how fast a car is, you really should know that by now.

The only issue people are having is the overhype of the Camaro which in no way is a heads and cam LS1 on the juice. Unless it's just a shitty setup. People were giving the Evo props. Seems to me the import owners are the ones getting butt hurt not the ls1 owners.

Does anyone know who's LS1 that is? Maybe they could chime in and give us the story. By the way that Evo is not running at max power. There are cars with close to 650-700 awhp running similar setups. On top of that you could add some spray. You will be seeing low 9 sec. Evo's this year, mark my words. One of the tuner guys just went 10.18 without spray @141 mph. Turbo Trix hit 9.7's earlier in the year on the juice, both of those cars are 2.0 liter. They keep getting faster and faster. Both cars are badass, 601 awhp will beat the **** out of a lot of cars, no shame in losing to an Evo that fast or an LS1 with that kind of power. My .02

How fast are they stock? I know what they're rated at but awd has to take some of that hp away.... unless that 276 is at the wheels? I'm looking at an 03(online stock) w/22k on it for 22k. How fast is the car ? * Not that I'm ready to trade my SS, just like looking at other cars. You never know.
I guess its time for a test drive just to check it out. But it looks like an srt-4 with a spoiler

How much can a stock evo motor handle? The SRT-4 blows up a little over the 500hp mark.

Stock Evo can handle 500awhp, there was a guy riding around with 535 at the wheels for a long time with no problems. My setup cost about $2700 minus the AEM which runs about 2000 installed. The reason I said that was because you could achieve my numbers with a reflashed ECU which costs about $400 including tuning on the dyno. I am selling my Evo as some investments I am getting into require a truck.

Have they fixed the clutch and transfer case problems with the 05's? I've seen some bad things said about them from owners

There are a few guys pushing 420-430 on stock turbo which is nuts. Curt Brown(well known in DSM racing) just went 10.9 on stock turbo. T-case is not a big issue if you know how to drive it right. Trannies have better synchro's now. All around it may not be the best looking car, we all know that, but performance wise as far as stock performance, handling performance, and mod friendliness I do believe it is the best bang for the buck on the market.
