was driving around yesterday and spot this silver GTO behind me,he pulls next to me and gives a little rev, and he paces me. we get a light and were waiting for the green, he's not showing any sign that he's interested so we both take off normal. As soon as we get out of the intersection he guns it and gets a 1/4 of a car before i gun it. i started to pull on him and when he shifted to second a was even with him, we let off at 65 with me 1 car ahead, i tried to talk to him but he gave me the cold shoulder, i tried to give him thumbs up but nothing, (he's probly bitter he didn't wait till 05 for his goat)

later on that afternoon i had just picked my girlfriend up andcame to a stop light by here house. I glanced behind me and see this white lightning and tell my girl, as he pulled next to me she said not to race him, he throws a big rev and my girl said race him, light goes green and i pull ahead 1/4 of a car, by 60 i have half a car, by 90 a a little more than half a car then we shut down and give the big thumbs up to each other,
It belongs to this guy i know its a 02 with exhaust and i think but not sure a pulley

14.3@98 stock The lightning had to have been stock because I have raced some with pully's and they are dam fast. The GTO 03 are to heavy and no go the 04 are pretty fast I got killed by one with the full exhaust headers all the way to the back by like 2 cars. Good kills though its all about having fun.

 

i ran the 14.3 stock, the lightning has a 10pound pulley, catbak and chip, his best is 13.9@100, my best was 14.1@99 before my catback, our times suck here cause were 4200ft above sealevel

 

Pray tell why should he have waited for an '05?

 

And for those complaining about the GTO's weight.

My Camaro weighs 3,460lbs. My GTO weighs 3,760lbs. That is in the same ball park as some heavier WS6 Trans Am's and definetly in convertible F-Body territory.

Some people seem to think that the car weighs 4,000+ pounds or something.

 

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE 04'S I THINK IT WAS WRONG OF GM TO SWITH LIKE THAT TO THE LS2, I know i Rather have a ls2 if gm did that to my car, but i still love my ls1.
