Default Me versus 300C

Saw somebody wondering what an LT1 would do against a 300 so I thought I'd share my kill. Was on my way to work one night, just cruising about 70 when I see some headlights coming up REALLY QUICK so I punched it while he was I'm guessing about 2 cars behind me, he gets about 1 ahead of me and I stick with him there, we come up on traffic and slow down. Finally get around them, he is behind me again and he punches it, so I punch it he gets about half a car in front of me before I start to pull him REALLY slowly. Traffic again. THIS time we get side by side, from what I could tell we punched it at the exact same time and hung side by side till about 110 when I started to pull him, got about a fender in front and we had to stop due to traffic. Then we both exit off onto another highway where the speed limit is 55. We slow to about 50 and I shifted down to second, tapped the gas making'er jump just for the hell of it, he decided he didn't want to race anymore . I'd really like to race him on a track.

Hmm, well it sounds like my girlfriends 94TA would lose b/c other than a moroso CAI and a B&M tranny cooler its bone stockwhereas you have LT's & a cutout. Plus its an auto and has big heavy 18X10.5 Chrome Z06 wheels w/295/35's out back. Sounds like the only chance herTA has is off the line.

I work at a Chrysler dealership and those things are a hell of a lot faster than I thought they would be. Sounds like a good run!

And you're basically a full bolt-on LT1 M6? Maybe I should rebuild mine with some forged parts and get a STS kit or something. Damn. In my eyes, any 4 door luxury car should be multiple bus lengths behind a LT1 or better sports car at the end of the 1/4. Please tell me they don't handle as well or better on a road course also, lol.

Well, they have 345 HP 5.7L engines so its no wonder they can move pretty well. Sure they may be 300-400lbs heavier but LT1's only have 275hp 5.7L engines so its no wonder they would be a tick faster. The funny part is thats only the mid-level model. The Chrysler SRT8 version has 425hp and runs low 13's bone stock. On top of that they are smooth stylish luxurious comfy 4 doors. Ahh yes today's Horsepower wars are making yesteryears supercars look pretty lame in comparison.

You know times have changed when today's mid-level 4 door sedans are as fast or faster than some older Lamborghini's and Ferrari's.

nope, high 13s and low 14s reported from many magazines. I expect the same at the track. The srt-8 is a 6.1L hemi. Basically a stroked 5.7L Hemi block. Runs low 13s and I bet you could get it to run some 12s with some slicks on it and possibly with some cool air.

I've been thinking about buying one, but they don't won't to give anything off just yet. Too damn new, so I'm in no hurry, I will wait til I can get that srt-8 for 33k instead of 40k.
