Dude are kidding me. My cars a full weight GT. I dont have an actual weight for it, but Ive never even taken the spare out. As far as the cam goes, the stock cam is decent for a blower, yeah sure he will pick up power but its not like its holding him back that badly. He should still be able to dyno in the low 400 rwhp with that cam and Im sorry in a Fox if you cant drive it into 11s with that much power you need to pursue other interests. As far as suspension goes all I had were a set of Lakewood upper/lowers and the Eibach ProKit which held me to low 1.9 60's. If you think thats some sort of crazy drag setup then I dont know what to tell you.

I have to jump in here. A 1993 Cobra with a blower WILL NOT MAKE 400+ rwhp. Hey, I love Mustangs and have owned a few... but cmon

I say the LS1 with the STS (Stuck in The wrong Spot) turbo will win.

Please, I did 420 something rwhp on the stock heads. Edelbrock Performer and junk *** B cam. S-Trim at 10 psi is all I had. Btw the bottom end had 150k on it.

Check out the blower section on the Corral. Very easy to do 450+ rwhp with a 5.0L and a blower.

In fact heres one:

Heres another good thread. Some guys have redone motors, while others do not. All in all it shows the easy power potential with a cheap blower and out of the box parts.

Heres a video of an S-Trim in the 9s. Not a stock block, but the same blower as on your buddies Cobra.

O.K. Place foot in mouth. I seem to remember #'s like 325-350 which was respectable back then. My bad. In that case forget those junk 03-04 Cobras. Buy a fox body slap a blower on and spray it

whats the most power a 5.0 motor ever had from the factory, 240hp??? come on, theyre barely putting 200whp down, you would have to have a lot of supporting modifications like a good cam, heads, bolt-ons, tune, etc to make 450whp....

Depends what other mods it has. A friend had a bone stock LS1 with an Incon TT kit running 15psi that made 630rwhp.

I dont knwo what i make at 9 but i make 531 RWHP and 534 RWTQ at 10 psi, with only 13* of advance. Alot left in that as far as timing goes. GL with the race!

Ok you all need to stop looking at peak HP. Understand that Foxbodies are some of the easiest cars to set-up for the 1/4. By "set-up" I'm talking susp./gear/60ft.

There's a vid floating around somewhere of a '93 Cobra with headers, exhaust, 4.10's, and a 150shot on a tire running solid 11's. You think he's making 4-500whp?? Hell no!

Regardless of what anyone here may THINK about Foxbody cars, they were/are CAPABLE of running in the 13's in stock form. They won't trap what LS1's will, but in a straight up 1/4 run depending on the mods of both, it can be a good run.

You guys know how many local Foxbod's with stock susp. I've seen in the 10'/11's???

Huh, fella's...EDUCATE YOURSELVES.

I thought about a Cobra, and truthfully you can make tons of power with them. But to me it was much harder to be intimate with an 03/04 Cobra unlike a 5.0L. Im not entirely at home with a modular motor and I didnt want to get into something that I didnt fully understand. I am aware that many guys dont ever touch the valve covers in an 03/04 Cobra but to me I like being able to tear something apart at will and with my eyes closed. Thats why Ive stuck with Windsors. And yes buy a Fox and "slap" a blower on it and spray it, if you do it right I can guarentee its going to haul.

Like I said, I made 425 rwhp with stock E7TE casting. They had 150k on them, no port work and original head gaskets. My other mods were as follows:

Edelbrock Performer Intake
FMS "B" cam
65mm TB
Pro-M 80mm MAF
42# injectors
BBK Equal Length Short Headers
Mac ProChamber H pipe
DynoMax UltraFlow Catback
MSD 6AL
Vortech S-Trim 10-11# boost

Everything including the blower I pretty much picked up used off the Corral. I had less than 4k including the car which I paid 1k for total.

Before I had the S-Trim I had an A-Trim with 10# boost and 30# injectors. I dynoed 309 rwhp in the same configuration as above and ran 12.30@116 with a 1.92 60'. All I had for suspension was Lakewood upper/lowers, Eiback Pro-Kit which sucked I might add, the entire reason why I couldnt 60' for anything and a set of M/T ET streets on Welds.

I currently have GT40 Heads, TFS Stage 1 cam, Edelbrock Performer Intake. Ive also done a fuel system and Longtubes with an X since. I did a baseline dyno pull to 5000 rpm but I had to shut down because of my incompentence with AN fittings (fuel leak). I made 430 rwhp and 474 rwtq. Im feeling pretty confident that the combo has more in it, since Im only making 9 psi at that rpm. I normaly go to 6k where I make a solid 13 psi. Btw this is still my 150k stock short-block.

So doubt all you want I guess. But I thought I would share.
