I've owned 3 Stealths, 2 of which were Twin turbo. Let me assure you if he is stock you will walk him from a roll. From a dig (if he can launch) will probably tear you out of the water. These cars are hard to make power. Stock they have 320hp to the flywheel. With 25% drivetrain loss it has about 225hp to the wheels. On the highway that 3800lb VR-4 is sluggish. My buddy had upgraded everything in his VR-4 including DR-500s turbos. And he raced my buddy Nick that had a '00 Z28 M6 w/ catback and K&N intake. The LS1 pulled on the VR-4 everytime. Just make sure he doesn't have anything serious under the hood before you start betting money. Hope this helps. Later.

dr500 turbos are a pretty small upgrade and was it actually tuned?
And it prob had boost leaks.
92 cars are now 13 years old doubt they are in good running condition like your spun bearing car was. That helps.

they spin bearings quite frequently (I used to drive a fwd stealth, now i drive 95 trans am). Spinning bearing is becoming a huge problem with them. Yes 500's arent a big upgrade, 650s would have been a better choice for street car probably.
Yea the AWD can be pretty damn mean from a stop but sputters out at higher speeds.
Stock for Stock (or near there) I would classify both an LS1 and VR4 to be mid-high 13 second cars. So really they should be about even at 1/4 where the ls1 would pass the vr4.
