Maybe it was 2/3 for the z28, but when I watched it I swore the mustang GT took 2/3, and yea from a dead stop a mustang GT would be able to hang with an 05 GTO for a little bit but if it was a roll race the mustang would get slowly walked IMO.

i think the an 05 GTO would do more than slowly walk an 05 GT. i'd say at the end of third for the GTO it havin at least 2 - 2 1/2 cars on him, IMO

Yea thats what I mean. I think that from a dig it would be pretty close till about 60 mph, then the GTO would slowly start to walk away from the GT and end up a few cars ahead.

motorhead any stock 05 gto would kill you. you barely held with an auto z28 with only an intake/filter. how do you expect to stay with a car that is trapping 108 easy, 109 110 mph or more for the freaks
That vid wasn't of me,and the guy in that vid runs 14.0 at 103 at the track. I could "stay" with a stock gto quite easily. Let me guess, you think every LSX powerd gm product runs 12's stock? Not at my track they don't...

0-60 a stock GT is very quick for its hp/weight due to its suspension, the thing hooks like a 5.0, GREAT weight transfer. The GTO would walk healthily up top though.

i got to test drive an 05 GT 5-speed and was not impressed at all. it did not even compare to my 02 Z28 which is pretty much stock and A4. The GT felt like it had alot of torque but would fizzle out real quick nothing like the LS1

Could be all in the tune, like I said that guy runs 14.0 at 103 with way more mods then I have, with his mods he should be cutting high 12's at ~107. And that z28 had just as many mods as my car. It wasn't totaly stock. I'm not hating on LS1's,I think its a bad *** motor. Seems alot of owners think they are untouchable though. And well stock or near stock,a minor bolt on 05 stang can hold its own agianst one. I know because I've done it. And when I'm at grudge night why do the ls1's want to race me? It's not because I'm an easy win.

Well, this is true to an extent,my car was kinda a dog for the first few miles on it,it was way faster at 2k miles then at 200. It would barley chirp the tires in second at first, once it broke in it would spin pretty good through second and pulled way harder up top. Just give them time you will see. Plus the stock tune on these cars sucks very badly. With my custom tune I'm reving to 6500 with power. I've surprized my share of ls1 owners,do you think they ran home and jumped on the net to tell everybody that they got edged out by a new stang? Probably not,you only here about the kills on the net.

The 05 GT's have a nasty electronic throttle problem where it makes it a BITCH to launch until you get it fixed up with a tune. Feels like someone else is (barely) pressing the gas when you get on it.

Judging by that it was probably fully broken in on the first 10 miles

Thank god I special ordered mine and picked it up the day it showed up!
