Default Walked an SS

I was on the freeway today coming back from class and I noticed a black SS in my rear view mirror steadily getting closer to me. He finally caught up a little bit further down the freeway and then he cruises even with my car (we were both doing 65 mph or so) and he gives me this look like he's gonna tear me up ( I have a stock 2000 Z28) so I signal for him to go. I always wanted to run another F-body to see where my car stacks up and this SS Camaro would be the first chance I got and I thought he for sure would pull away from me. But as I hit it WOT we stayed even till about 90 and then I started walking away from him...I ended up about 1 1/2 car lengths ahead of him by the time I let off the throttle at about 140 MPH. He was a six speed and I am an automatic so I am assuming that something was wrong with the guys car or he didn't know how to drive it or I just was one of the lucky ones to get a good LS1 from the factory (not a dog)...either way it was fun and whoever you were...GOOD RACE!

If you got a freak and he got a turd, its conceivable, and since you went from 65, yo uwere at a VERY strong point for the A4, i can see it happening, he ran out of gear and had to shift, where you just held 1:1....yeah, it could happen, congrats.

It can happen. Good kill. I do not have the time to try and decide if your BSing. In turn, I hope you don't have the time or feel the need to make some **** up.

If I do kill a car in a race that I am not supposed to, I'm going to have the other driver sign a sworn statement and have it notarized for authencity. j/k

I always thought that other than suspension differences and maybe a less restrictive exhaust on the SS/WS6, that the 2 were the same.

Too bad that is where you are wrong....if you bought a Camaro Z28 (A4) without the sports performance package and perfrormance rated tires then you where limited to 108 MPH. If you did opt for the factory speed rated tires and sport package like mine has then it goes all the way to 155 MPH and beyond....look your **** up first before you speak...

then you have the optional Z rated tires. if your Z28 didn't have those, then you would be governed at 108 (the max speed rating for the standard Z28 tire)

Yeah I thought for sure he should of walked me being that he was a six speed but maybe he didn't take care of his car or didn't know how to drive or all the other factors that can wiegh into it all..( horsepower from factory, milage on the car etc....) But I know for sure it won't happen all the time...but it was nice to run another f-body for once....what I get most of the time is Honda'a and mustangs.....either way I thought it was a good race

It should of been a dead give away that I had the sports package by just reading the speeds I was getting up to....

Yeah I had Z rated tires but I didn't opt for them. They came with the car. As far as stock, I had bought my T/A straight off the showroom floor, didn't opt for the performance tires either and that car would go to at least 140, it did have the Z rated tires though.
