I agree with that.

I don't agree with the comfortability thing. I can't even fit in a GT (6'7 240lbs).

I read in a magazine that the new Z06 has the best power to weight compared to some of the other high powered cars...

Power to weight
(lbs. per hp)

Chevrolet Corvette Z06: 6.2
Ford GT: 6.3
Lamborghini Gallardo: 6.3
Porsche 911 GT2: 6.6
Ferrari F430: 6.6
Dodge Viper: 6.8
Aston Martin Vanquish S: 7.9

The Mercury Marauder guys were racing them not too long ago at the track. Believe it or not they were actually beating the GT but from reading it looks like the GT was having problems

BTW poor ford GT..

Here's the article

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forum...6&page=1&pp=15

The Marauder won. No kidding, I'm serious.

Marauder = 11.5
Ford GT = 11.9

Another run:

Marauder = 11.9
Ford GT = 12.3

That link didn't work for me. I'm curious about the trap speed of the GT.
It's common knowledge that ET is all traction and driving ability.

If there's nothing but a long straight away the GT would win a close race. In any other kind of race the advantage goes to the Z06. Not bad for a 65-80K car.

the is over a hundred pounds lighter right? And it revs I think 600rpms more than the ford. All in all, its a close one.

The GT is a tank. The Z06 is incredibly light. I know for a fact that the
GT can safely rev to 7,000rpm...not sure about the Z06.

Since I've raced a bunch of GT's, that doesn't quite fit the "fantasy racing"
mold. I'll have to wait 'til spring before I *** whoop some Z06's. Should
be fun though.

Somebody said something about the Z06 Redline. So I looked it up here is some info...

Most impressive is the new "LS7" 7.0-liter/427-cubic-inch Gen IV V-8 with lightweight reciprocating components that was directly lifted from the all-conquering C5-R. This small-block 427, which will be hand built at GM Powertrain's new Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI, delivers 500 horsepower at 6200 rpm, 475 lb.-ft. of torque at 4800 rpm, has an 11.0:1 compression ratio and a 7000 rpm redline, and features titanium connecting rods and intake valves, and a dry-sump engine lubrication system.

Those two machines suppose to performed as well in 1/4mile but there is a slight edge that Z06 might passed the finish-line first due the weight advantage..just my .02

Dragtimes.com says :

http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...slip-4870.html

anyway thanks for vid & clarify buffman

peace
