98 camaro ss vs 03 mustang gt
#41
Do one of you guys go to everglades highschool? I used to go there.
Saying its not going to be close is being arrogant. I think this race will be very close. Since the SS is an auto, there will be less room for driver error with the LS1 driver. The GT should get him down low because of the gears as well as the unknown reason why stangs pull pretty well down low. BottleFed, i hate to say it but i think your either overestimating your car or underestimating a bolt on LS1.

first i wouldnt consider it a bolt on ls1...it has mangflow mufflers and a hypertech chip...not like it has much done yet...2nd were going to the track for this...me on 295 drag radials...him on 275 **** tires that came with it when he bought it...if it comes down to it beign a drivers race then i win hands down...i've driven his car...and i just dont think its gonna be that close..either way..will post the slips and a video in about a week...
and slow vette your welcome to come to moroso nov 11th...

I think it'll be close, but i'd bet on the SS at the long end. The VT stage II cams aren't gonna add 50rwhp. The GT is probably putting down about 280rwhp. The SS isn't really that much heavier and should be making more peak power/torque and power under the curve. Gotta love the 5.7l.

and from watching the fools at the local track, unless your track is super stick Hoosier 980 Oval Track Slicks are garbage. I've seen a few people with drag only suspension run them with success, but other than they I haven't figured out why kids think they'll work wonders.
If your tires are new you and you know how to baby that thing off the line, I don't see how you couldn't pull some decent 60ft times. Then again that mustang has the advantage with the DR

I think that GT's a low 13 second car. Its peaking at or around 300hp. But I dont know because my friends stock M5 '00 GT went 12.8 on a 75 shot. And somehow we beat a exhuast/intake Banshee (ATV) from a dig and held it at our door until that thing top'd out. It ran a 14.2 on the G-Tech with me, him, and 2 tens (speakers) in the trunk bone stock besides muffler .
