i wanna know who won this race!!!! because i have a friend with a GT similar to Bottlefed's and he beats me by about .3 sec in the 1000 ft.(he is an insanely awesome driver) im gonna go with the GT on this one. if the GT can drive its his race. mustangs accelerate QUICK down low. but no ***** up top.

mustangs actually react well with 3.73's too. ive got those in mine and they helped alot. i didnt want to go with 4.10's because of the traction problems and gas mileage.

4.6 mustangs dont see big gains from cams, most are running around 285-300rwhp with full bolt on's and cams. a full bolt on gt will dyno from 260 to even as high as 280rwhp. i have seen stangs with those mods, run a 13.1 1/4mile. the headers and exhuast help him out alot, and so do the gears. it is pretty much a drivers race. his tires are gonna help him out too. and the FR500's arent really that heavy... they are the same weight as any stock mustang rim as i remember. my bullitts are 24lbs a piece.

Default Fantasy Racing

Stanger 88, I see that you mention all of your various modifications but you offer no drag strip times.

One thing you need to remember is that I have absolutely no brand loyalty.

You needn’t be a rocket scientist to see that if you buy the quickest available car from the factory. Less money and time will be required to reduce ET’s and increase trap speeds.

I have been racing since 1974 and have had 12 different cars using small and big block engines. These included Fords, Plymouths, Pontiacs and Chevrolets.

I had 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 that regularly made visits to the track and in stock form it wouldn’t make a wart on the stock LS1 Camaro’s ***. Sorry once again but the facts are the facts.

Now to the cam change statement, maybe you don’t read well but the motor in my car is the way it was when left the factory. It doesn’t have an aftermarket intake, cam or headers. It still retains the catalytic converters and stock gear ratio.

We do have a fellow at our track that has his Z28 set up similar to mine. Although during this last season he added a small cam and some headers. He is still letting the car shift at the factory shift points. He now runs 7.7 at 92 with a 1.9 60 using 16” Nittos. This 1/8-mile trap speed is only about 5 mph off what a stock NA Mustang turns in the ¼.

There are no NA ’04 back Mustangs with similar mods running anywhere close.

Mustangs actually make up most of the fun night participants so I know exactly how they run.

Yes you can make a Mustang run like an LS1 F-Body but it is going to cost considerably more. This is just another fact, sorry.

Another thing to remember is we are only racing an 1/8-mile. If we were racing the ¼-mile things for the Mustangs would deteriorate even further. All you need to do is look at the trap speeds to see the power difference.

In my final statements to you I can only suggest is that you go back to school and get an engineering degree. Then race weekly for 31 years and maybe we will have something to discuss. At the racetrack when the light goes green all ill-bred bullshit ceases.

I wanted to hear an ending to the race as well, so I will make one up because I am bored...

(Mustang owner) So I got my Mustang tuned at Ford, cost $500 and I prob got 'bout 60hp bringing me to the high 10s. I let all of my NOS out of the bottle to reduce weight and I took a crap before lining up, but not because I was worried about losing in the best mustang ever with $1000's in mods, it was just because I didn't want the Camaro to think I was sprayin' when I dust him and I had to go because I didn't want to crap all over myself when I smoked the Camaro really bad. Anyways, we show up in the wal mart parking lot and make a track out of shopping carts. I line up with the Camaro and realize that I forgot my NOS octane booster, so theres 15hp out the window, but I know I can still dust him. We start to rev when I remembered that I left my gym bag in the trunk and I still had a 1/2 tank of gas! Theres an extra 500lbs of weight, but it still doesn't matter cause I didn't let the Camaro have that $50 air lid that would give him 10hp. Anyways, we launch and I beat him off the line by about 1 car length. But for some reason, by about the 40th shopping cart or 80mph, the Camaro starts pulling on me! Then it hits me, my roomate must have PAID the Ford mechanic tuning my car to slow it down! We roll back to the start and I confronted my roomie but he denied sabotaging my car. Then I left for work and my roomie said he was going to buy a lid for his car. No worries though, cause when he puts that lid on, JUST to make it fair, I'm going to spray my 150 shot.

(Camaro owner) So we line up, he gets the jump, but I pull on him by about 2 car lengths to 110mph. My roomate said he missed a shift, only used 89 octane, and said he shut down at about 60 because he thought that the race was from 0-60. It was actually a pretty simple outcome and now I am going to brush up on my LS1 knowledge to better defend myself against trash talking Mustang owners.

Thanks for the update, all that reading and no word from the 2 racers. That's crap.

Where did they race, cause in Michigan my stock 00SS A4 ran 13.2@104 1.99 60ft with only free mods(airbox mod,egr mod) Nothing aftermarket at all.

Never ever ran a 14 anything
Congrats to the Mustang owner .

With those times, they both are losers, hehe, unless they are at a high DA or something.

I think there have been about 6 Saturdays since this post. Where are the race results? Where is the video?

I hate posts that promise a race and then don't deliver.

i raced my buddies 1998 cobra from a dig and roll and raped his car.

His car- 98 cobra - Off road X Accufab throttlebody pretty f'n big too
Borla catback Jet chip
big *** MAF, lol 4.10gears
K&N Powerpipe (replaces stock intake pipe)
Removed front and rear Swaybars

My car at the time- SLP Lid, Magnaflow Catback, some free mods, and NOT 4th gear in my M6

Ok heres how it went, from a roll or dig we were pretty even, till i hit 2nd gear and just str8 pulled on him, 3rd gear, pulled on him. only did he start catchin me when i was bouncing off rev limiter in 3rd. lol So you drive it good, youll get him. (yeah i know im a little late here, lol)

Man,sorry to hear that.
A buddy just picked up a high mileage 98 Z28 A4 with 2:73 gears and 115,000 or more miles on it.
Took it to the track right before it closed for the season here .
And the jerk ran all low 13's with a best of 13.16 @ 107.
And i swear that thing has only had a few of the free mods done. NOTHING aftermarket on that car.
Pissed me off due to it runs better stock than my 00 SS did.
