I'd run you on the street and I'd put a nice chunk of change on the line.
I read that you've never driven a car over 450rwhp before. That much
power on the street with limited driving skills and it's curtains for you sir.

However, that is a shitload of power! Congrats on the new seutp.
It's going to be awesome.

Quite honestly though, I'd expect at least that much power out of a 408 and
a 91mm turbo. Just for reference, my boy runs 195mph with a 91 with less cubes
than you. Of course it's purely a racecar, but it is 3,300lbs.

I'd also throw down some money on 996ttx50.

Pfft...bunch of amateurs! Anything under 2000rwhp is for pussies and old ladies! If you can't snap a passenger's head clear off their neck, have it fly out the back window, and have your car cross the 1/4 mile before it hits the ground, well than my driving Mrs Daisy friends, you don't have a REAL car!

Whew they are beasts!!!! I love em and want one but not in my budget. Anyway I hear bone stock ones running from 11.7xxx and higher depending on the driver. My car uns 11.73 @115 on motor (best) so at the track I would have a shot. I have a 396 with heads big cam almost all boltons and a 3200 stall with M/T drags. It's hard to believe that a stock car is that AWESOME. LOL if they mod you need a whole lot, lol! I will spray any if I had to run one.

PS I would get slaughtered on motor from a roll type race, I try not to roll race luckily!

couple of things:

1. let me learn to drive again, lol.

2. id be down to race, money or not, but from a roll(i know i know, i sound like a supra haha) EDIT: I dont really prefer racing for money anyways, so id go from a dig or roll, just think it might be more entertaining to see a roll race so im not fishtailing into you at the launch.

3. my setup is on stock pcm and is no where near a "race car". Im surprised it went 845 rwhp on stock pcm without issues(i guess that new software they are using is pretty nice) Im guessing my car will be around 3800 lbs if not more WITHOUT me in it.

4. Like I said before, ill race anyone, faster or slower, dont give a ****. Im just in it for the thrill and good video footage

****, bring on harlan, id love to see me get my *** handed to me by such a quick *** car

Its all in good fun

Realistically someone with a STS turbo kit and a few bolt ons could beat one. Of course at high speeds it would probably be a different story, as the 06 Z06 can top out at near 200 mph.

My brother has a new c6 z06 has about 4k on it and has done nuthing but pulled on vipers, ford gt's, and lamborgini gallardo. The car runs hard and hasnt had any problems, his friend has one as well and the car runs excellent also. My brother pulled a 11.73 @ 126 after 3k miles on it. By the way I would love a shot at that porsche as well!!! Post your track times once you make it to the stip.

Gallardo's and Viper's are easy. A Ford GT, which puts roughly ~75 more ponies to the ground, will pull any stock C6 ZO6 rather easily; driver's being equal ofcourse.

Might be a different story in a drag-race though

Yeah, how does the Ford GT compare to the Carrera GT? I saw a video of a Carrera GT destroying a KB/TT Cobra.

What?? Whered you get that idea from? Ford GT's are not any faster than C6 Z06's. In one test I saw, the Z was actually faster.

That's not true, the new z does 0-60 while still in 1st, we have to shift at about 50mph, but maybe that's because it revs to 7g :-x

Watch them race in the real world dude; we'll see what happens then . Do you even know what the Ford GT'S have been dynoing ??

Shifting at redline will NOT get the C6 ZO6 to 60 mph. You must rev slightly above 7K in 1st to do so.

I can hit 60 in 1st . . . if I rev to ~7100 instead of my 6800 shift

In my statement I was referring to the gears more pertinent to this discussion, 4th and 5th gears

I'd imagine 1st is slightly different then ours, not sure, but 4th and 5th are the same as F-bodies.

Absolutely false.

Yep...they are damn near dead nuts even at the track. I've seen
4 or 5 GT's run and about 3 Z06's. I've raced a bunch of GT's on the
street as well. A friend just purchased a GT also. Gotta get in that
passenger seat.

Since when do dyno's run down the track? And yes...they only dyno around
550rwhp. What you failed to mention is that they are gosh damned tanks
as opposed to the lightweight Z06.

This was a really loooooooong thread and I saw somewhere it take a turn for races from a move . . . this is where I don't see a ZO6 winning since it is down in power compared to the GT.

Ofcourse at the strip the ZO6 will be extremely close every time and, on occaision, beat the GT.

Then one can say drag-racing at these power levels will be very (slight emphasis here ) dependent on suspension/tire/launch/60ft. yada, yada.

Power to power I see the GT winning on a roll race; given both cars COMPLETELY stock.

Tanks??? 400 lb. is a lot of weight but it does not make up for a ~100 rwhp deficit.

I'd love to race one of these things if anyone in South Florida would be willing to do so; I can take it out of the hole but I wanna see what they can do on a roll . . . I know what they can do at the track already.

Remember, this isn't a drag muscle-car. It was built to compete (or WHUP rather ) with exotics: fast off the line, good 1/4, ~200 mph top-speed, daily-driver friendly with all the creature comforts, and a FREAK on an auto-course.

"Down in power" means nothing when they both trap around 127mph.
I've raced GT's from a roll...and I am not impressed.

Nope...one can't say that at all since both cars are 100% bone stock.
I've seen several different people pilot GT's and Z06's. All were good
drivers and all clicked off roughly the same ET/mph.

Once again, they trap roughly the same but you think the GT automatically
wins because it makes more power? Don't bet on it.

Drive a 3,500lb car then drive a 3,100lb car. It's like driving a go-kart.
You seem to be blinded by dyno numbers vs. real world numbers.

Neither is the C6 Z06 since it's based on the C6R.

I ask again, have you ever even seen a GT in person? I ask because you
speak in generalities which are meaningless to me.
