4 times as many cams as I have, 6 pounds boost more than I have (0+6=6), and it's still not a race. Oh well.

Ya, mustangs are like a box of chocolate. You know how the saying goes. Your buddy's car sounds kind of weak though, some snakes would treat you rather rudely.

A bolt on 96-98 Cobra aint nothing without a nice 4.10 or 4.30 gear with some DRs. Minor Bolt ons and a nice gear and tire in that can can run very strong Ive personally seen high 12s. So don't say they need FI to be a contender for a stock LS1 or a mild bolt on LS1. The problem is launching the Cobra!

Ive also seen many 96-98 Cobras with bolt-ons and 10psi blowers put down 440 rwhp but only 380s or so Torque.

The 96-98 & 99/01 Cobra have very bad gearing there gearing don't put them in there power band at all, just add a 4.10 to a 4.30 in them cars with a decent driver and they can match a stock LS1, them gears will put them right where they need be. Ive witness at many NMRA events pretty much stock 96-98 & 99/01 (fixed 99) Cobras and 03/04 Machs run high 12s with no more then Gears and shifter Oh and stock size DRs. Some trap a few MPH less then the F Bodys but thats cause of the less HP but there were some impressive Machs with no real power adding mods that were trapping right with the LS1s, oh and a very strong 01 Cobra (probably one of the fastest stock ones Ive seen... 13.2 @ 105, it was a damn freak.

Well since you've listed examples of the rarity and not the norm, I guess I should remind you that stock LS1's have run 12.7.

F Bodys?
The best I heard of was 12.9 or some **** but still its not the norm... Im not taking away anything from the F-Bodys or the LS1 motors at all Ive owned them and LT1s I know what to expect out of stock and modded ones. Im just saying if the Cobra drivers knew what they were doing most people with stock LS1 won't be sayin there dogs the FBodys are easier to launch then the shitty IRS Cobras thats one of the reasons the Mach is a better match plus the better gearing in the Mach.
