Default Srt-4?

There is a kid with an SRT-4 in my town that thinks its the fastest car ever. He thinks it will beat any F-body in my town. It is completely stock and im almost certain i would smoke it, but i dont wana get embarassed by a little four. I know it has 250 hp, but it is pretty light and im sure some of you have race one. What do you guys think about an outcome? I'm confident with my driving and I'd love to kick his *** and shut him up!

You'll put a pretty good beating on him if he really is stock, with your mods.....

Those things can be quick with the right mods though....watch out later down the road

Default raced one

i raced one not to long ago in my 5.3 suburban.... from a stoplight to 45mph we where pretty even, he pulled on me alittle which isint a shocker.... i weigh 2X as much as he does.... as long as you dont forget to put the car in gear, you should kill him pretty bad

yeah man, a srt4, with a damn good driver will run 14.0 at best. His car is FWD, so he'll have some traction problems too. if you hook good, youll get him without a doubt.

stage 2 can be easily in 12s too, but stock one should be an easy kill for a decent driver

Super easy kill. I smoked one twice at the track and he was stock with a stage 1 turbo. You should have no problem. Race him from a dig and it will be even worse, I bet you could make some easy money too.

One of my buddies has a lightly modded one that put down 255 fwhp and like 240 fwtq and I still walk him so if hes stock shouldnt be a contest.

I was just driving along one night doing the speed limit, somebody was tailgaiting me, come up on a hill with a truck passing lane, he floors it, gets to around my door, i look over, see its an srt4, i hit the gas, he fades in my rearveiw mirror like he fell down a well.

The moroal of the story? When racing up a hill, get some TQ!

You should take him no problem - especially from a dig. I raced one (it had exhuast, not sure what else) from 40-100 or so and it didn't go so hot for him, which is pretty sad considering that I've got an auto (no converter) and he's able to put it right in the powerband with the turbo blowing but w/e

Judgeing from what you guys posted...I don't think you have raced any fast srt's. Yes, it kills me to say this but, I have raced some damn fast srt's....damn fast. Ones that would blow most cars away. Including vettes,..vipers...whatever. Stock that is.

I have raced one of them up to 150 mph...and it was neck and neck. I'll be honest, my car wasn't top notch that night(plugs were shot) but regardless...I was only down a few horses. I didn't have spray at the time, but at the time I think I was makeing 400 to the wheels.

These neons aren't slow anymore. I have never been beaten by one but, I truly am impressed with these cars.

I'd say one with 360 whp,...will walk any Z28/ta that isn't makeing atleast 420 to the wheels. Sucks but, thats the way it is.

I have raced several but, the ones I know power out put is...

365 whp beat him....

418 whp pump gas...beat him...490 race fuel

Bottom line.....there light,..and make power.

If you race him from a dig,...you'll most likely have no problem at all. If you race him from a roll,..which is how I have raced every srt, chances are, your gonna get beat.

Get some spray,..and it'll take car of most srt's but, not all.

Dude, he's racing a bone stock SRT4 with lighlty modded ls1. What do you think the outcome will be? He will beat him from a roll and from a dig!

I'm not a big fan on SRT4s, but I visit their forums all the time and they have many people making serious power. As much as I might dislike their cars, I always give respect when it's due, but stock neon... give me a break.

^I agree, anything can be made insanely fast w/ enough cash, but a stock srt4 will be **** on by a stock LS1 not to mention **** on and flushed like the turds they are by a modded LS1.

like everyone else has said.........if hes is indeed a stock stage one no problem, but i ran up on one about a month ago that did not look like much, but raped my *** from a dig.......and then slowed to about 40 and killed me from a roll????? this was before the convertor and no nitrous just a bolt on A4

i have raced a stock SRT-4, and i got beat......i hate to say it.

that was only once, but nevertheless my *** was whooped!

my car isn't fast by any means, but it is cheap, reliable, and quick, and you can't buy an SRT-4 for $1978, which is what my build cost.......car and all, down to every nut and bolt.......LOL

lightly modded LS1 with decent tires and driver will walk azz!
