Jason talked to him sometime this week I believe. Thanks for sending him our way. As far as I know were doing the work. Just a matter of scheduling it in.

Good kill

That "469BHP" is underestimated btw. A few of these have dynoed 425-430RWHP bone stock. They are no slouch and they are NOT that heavy for a luxury 4-dr sedan either. Less than 4k lbs. Nice kill.

Yes and no.

Excellent performer for a luxury car.

Do your research about the weight dude.

E55, CL55, SL55, CLS55, S55 ALL weigh a LOT more than 4K lb.

Do you even know what the Ultra Exotic, "light weight," two-door, Supercharged V8, Mercedes-McLaren SLR weighs?? Here's a hint . . . still a lot more than a loaded F-body LS1.

And the SLR is FAAAAAAAAAAAAR lighter than it's much cheaper bretheren.

That greatly depends on the H/C set-up of said LS1.

I stand corrected, it does weigh 4237 lbs, hardly "alot more than 4K." I was thinking of a different model. However, that still doesn't change the fact that it can do 116mph traps bone stock.

here's a video of a race with a 2006 e55 amg.

we took the video from the amg (stock, left lane) against my cararo (see mods in sig, right lane) and my buddies camaro (400rwhp cam only plus a 100 shot N20, in the middle lane). we raced from about 20mph to 140mph

the e55 is no slouch. when my buddie raced him without the juice (cam only, 400rwhp), it was a really close race. those things are damn fast and man are the sweet to ride in.

Very cool shots...

Nicely done. What do you think the top speeds were? I'm guessing 140-ish?

That's NOT what I would call close or keeping up. That bitch looked pretty slow to me. Good to see the Chevy smacking em.

why does everyone feel the need to ruin videos with their own personal taste in music (which sucks) music doesnt go in car racing videos

Weight is relative. But with performance in mind YES, 237 lb. is a lot of weight.

4237 is ~1000 lb. more than a stripper LS1 Z28 or LS1 Formula

heres the numbers i got from road and track the price is list price without options:

Mercedes-
C55AMG,$53,900-362hp v-8, 13.5@106.9MPH 1/4
CLK500-$52,800,302HP, V-8, 13.7@104.5MPH 1/4
E55AMG-$75,000,469HP,V-8,12.4@116.4MPH 1/4
SL65 AMG-$179,000,604HP,V-12,12.0@122.8

thats pretty expensive with half that money you can build a 10sec ls-1

yeah, you could build a faster car with less money, but you evidently havn't ridden in one. there is absolutely no way you can compare a camaro to an AMG Benz. it is by far the sweetest car i've ever been in.

not to mention is still has all of the warranty in tact.

im not bashing mercedes, u gotta respect the level of engineering ive been wathcing there motors race in formula 1 for some time..........but yea they are expensive im sure its a nice comffy ride and the seat warmers/multi passenger climate control/gps navigation/and turning headlight lenses, are really nice but im the kind of guy who would never use any of that stuff im happy with my straight forward no nonsense trans am i like the simplicity but the power you have from an american v-8 and not having to pay an arm and a leg 4 it, power to all the people not just the people who make a shitload of money
