just to clear up the talk, not that you guys were too far off. Z06 started in 2nd the lambo first gear goes up to around 70 mph. Both cars were where they were supposed to be. The gallardo has an e-gear (no missed shifts possible) and is not supercharged or turbo charged. The only mod is a tubi exhaust, still retains its cats. Gallardo dynos around 415-420 so your just watching the Z06 out hp it.

As far as the 2nd video posted, thats my vette vs the same gallardo. went from 40 mph and I started in 3rd vs the gallardo starting in first. Not that it makes a difference but the reason I waved for him to go is that my car has a removable steering wheel and no horn, plus I knew it wouldn't be much of a race.

all the footage you see if from my recently released dvd. www.beyondthequarter.com

Does anyone know how a C5 Z06 (instead of the C6) would have done in the same race against the Gallardo?

yeah, I expected that it would end in a loss, but would it be a blow out, or would it hang pretty close?

Cannot compete with 505 hp and 3100 lbs. The combination makes for a killer car.

From a highway roll I don't think a C5 Z06 would get smoked. Acording to this website, gallardo's do 12.4 @112 mph in the 1/4. Also, gallardos weigh a ton 3560 lbs. Shouldn't a C5 Z06 be able to keep up with that?

I bet the exotic would REALLY outhandle the 'vette though.

I've read up on the new Z06's handling and it really turned me off... Not that I am an exotic lover or anything. I just don't like the idea of a Corvette Z06 with dicey handling and RWD on a track with turns compared to the AWD exotic.

You don't have a clue of what your talking about.

Go drive a vette dipshit,..and tell me about how bad it handles.

Wow.. Cool video! That lambo does sound cool as hell, as does the Z06 once you can hear the exhaust after it passes!

Yup. Gallardo is awd and 500 ponies. Chalk it up to parasitic power loss maybe? Both 500hp (the Vette is a lil under rated though isn't it?)

I think it'd be a good 1/4 mile race but it's hard to screw up with an e-gear and awd. After 130 the lambo will probably pull hard.

No. Look at what you're stating. A standing 1/4 mile and a highway roll are two VERY different races. A highway roll has less to do with weight, and alot to do with aerodynamics and horsepower. The two have equal (maybe edge to the lambo) in aerodynamics, and the lambo has 100 more hp. 400lbs and awd from a roll are not enough to overcome such a deficit.

You might be able to make a case for a decent 1/4 race, where weight would be more of a factor, but even then, unless the Z has DRs, i doubt it would be enough to outweight the awd traction of the Lambo.

-----The preceeding statements were made with the assumption of equally skilled drivers, no missed shifts, and a clear sunny day at about 75* and a closed course, naturally -----

Sheesh people.

Read around for handling comparisons between the new viper vs the new vette. The Viper actually won with its new suspension set up. It was slower though of course the other comparisons were higher up on the suspension stability.

I'd don't know and I'm a dipshit whatever....
