Default this should be in the "IMA retard" section!!

OK first just a little background, My car and mods in my sig... Idiot #1 drives a 92' Cobra, 5 speed, POS... Thinks its just the fastest thing on the road ( saw it yesterday broke down on the side of the road)

Ok I was in the chow hall here at Maxwell AFB, Al and he asked me how my "turbo Z-71" was running... lol well I told him it was running fine and then explained to him that a Z-71 was a Chevy 4x4 truck and my car was not a turbo car... with this shocked look on his face, he looked at me for about a min trying to figure out that he was stupid. This is prolly one of them things that u just had to be there for but I laughed my a$$ of at this kid for like 2 days b/c he is susposed to be this know-all-be-all w/ his 5.slow oh yea and the SS on my car stands for "supercharged" ...... dont ask I have no idea where some of these folks come up w/ this ( he still wants to race me when he gets his Procharger, that he thinks is a turbo, back on his car) i think its kinda funny myself, but yes... he is retarted...

If all you run is 13.5@107 then you better watch your back. Back in teh day, a magazine got 13.3 out of a 93 cobra (they didnt make them in 92...) by using a timing bump, and a short belt. Normally, they are low 14's. WIth a procharger, he should take you without much trouble if he can drive, assuming you run 13.5@107. Maybe he is sandbagging his intelligence? If so, it is working.

Oh u can believe this kind has got **** for brains and I was pulling 13.5 w/ street tires spinning ~ 100ft... and no he can not drive... he dumps the clutch at like 4k just to get the thing going (prolly why it is sitting on the side of the road)

They're slow. My bro had a 93 cobra with full boltons and it was going high 13s. He eventually gave that up and got a c5.

I agree that they can be low-mid 14 second cars stock, but I refuse to believe a belt and a few degrees of timing netted them the 75-100hp necessary to get a full second knocked off the quarter.

FSTLS1, stanger88 was simply quoting what a magazine posted that they netted from those mods. A lot of the things that magazines do seem impossible by real world standards.

I realize that, and I wasn't knocking him, but a car like that would be an obvious ringer or more modded than the mag led the readers to believe. I mean c'mon, gaining a second in the quarter from mods that really net what, 10 hp? I didn't think ACTFLYBOY02 should be worried about a beater cobra that "is getting" a supercharger because a magazine got one with an extra 100hp or has raced it on a track that runs downhill.

If the cobra is in DECENT CONDITION, it should do low 14's (YEs, i know the mag' time slip is not reproducable and IN NO WAY claim that a 93 cobra could do that unless somethin special was going on.) But a 93 Cobra puts about 220rwhp down in a state of good tune. THe supercharger should raise those numbers to around 300 with about 330 rwtq. IF he gets a good tune, gets some decent tires, he should have you.

Actually there are cobras from 84-92 they are canadian GT's they do have a cobra decal on the back. If a 93 cobra made 220rwhp-230rwhp like they are suppose to that's better then low 14's it's a high 13 sec. car with traction *notice i said with traction* before i get flamed for that. The car has GT-40 iron heads, 1.7 rockers, 24lb injectors, cobra intake, a shitty cam, and a shitty computer, it should run in the 13's.

yes 89 stang, all things being PERFECT, i feel it is a high 13's car. but most run low 14's in decent shape. I was unaware the canadian GT's were badged as cobra cars. Did they have the GT heads/stuff, or did they get the real 93 cobra stuff?? I thought 93 was the only one hotted up. Were hte others a decal package?

The canadian "cobra's" are just regular old GT's nothing special. For some reason in canada ford decided to call them Mustang Cobra GT's kinda stupid. Cause they always get confused for real cobra's, but they have the exact same parts as a 84-92 american GT. I will agree though in the hands of most it would be a low 14 sec. ride just like any other car in the hands of the inexperianced they usually perform really really shitty lol.

There's a pic. of the little decal i'm talking about that all canadian gt's got.

Oh and to keep on topic yeah you'll kill this kids car he is obviously retarded, and it's prolly not even a procharger he's getting probably like a turbonator or some such horseshit, unless he's already got a tornado installed on that piece

Assuming a properly installed pro-charger and a decent driver, you will lose, imho. assuming he really is a cockbag like you say, he probably means a turbonator as stated above, or maybe a FIPK filtercharger or some crap. In all honesty, I think you will win, but if the car is properly pro-charged GT, it will be a loss of the driver, not the car. A procharged 5.0 with tires and a driver should be LOW 13's easily.

Hell that '92 Mustang is beat to hell! If it was fresh it'll do 14's, but this is a ragged out ride that probably has poor ignition, cylinder blowby, cruddy fuel system, and who knows what else!
Pimp slap 'em and take a vid of you raping his 'Stang. Post it up when you're done. We need a laugh.

For the record, your LS1 has blow-by as well...it just happens in MUCH SMALLER quantities than afformentioned 5.0 BUT, to set the record straight, my friends 5.0 has around 190K miles on it, has been BEAT TO **** and it still hung VERY WELL with my old LT1 trans am, his only mods were 3.73's, CAI,pullies, full exhaust. This car is getting an SC...and with 100bhp more, my friend would have killed my LT1 and LS1's...soooooo, dont be so quick to say its in crappy shape, my friends, by all rights, should be long dead, the way it has been treated. Those 302s are about the toughest thing out there.
