My uncle (A perfect midlife crisis vette fanatic example) had a Vette, he did the "Texas Mile" or something like that and he said about half-3/4 of the 6-speed vette's overheated the tranny and blew the dipstick or something of the nature, while the A4's did just fine...could it have been 6th gear? who knows....

Very tight video.

The guy, though, has gotta be the slowest shifter in the world.

I've had my C5 up to 185-187mph in 5th gear and still had some left. I think you would have to be going 195-200 to even think about 6th. nice vid with better shifting he could have pulled the busa>

Yeah, it was probably guys trying to run 6th gear with 3.42's and high hp. Thats what I'm trying to say. People that run those events all have that similar story.

yeah, it looked like he got a little bit of wheelie wobble.

I remeber landing some wheelies on my R1, the bike would wobble violently for about 20 yards or so. Funky ****. Had the pucker effect going for sure. lol.

I laugh now but,...anyone thats ridden a bike like a jackass(myself), knows it's scary as hell. Just try and power out of it...don't keep your arms super locked in place,...and hold on tight.

The first time I did this, was on I-75, on my R1, and I had JUST learned how to shift gears and ride a wheelie(that night)...I went from 2nd gear, at about 65mph, all the way to 5th gear, where as soon as I hit fifth gear, the bike had lost power, and started to bring the front wheel down to the ground. When it hit, I was doing 145mph on my digital speedo,...and wobbleing for what felt like 100 yards, was probably more like 30 or so.

Crazy ****. Which I guess I could never learn to stop, as my dumb *** got airlifted, about a year later.

Yee haw.

I know the feeling, did allot of off road bike riding, done it plenty of times and damn it does hurt. I am alive still and look back at the crazy stuff I did and find it funny. No pun intended. No really.

Personal best is 166 in fifth at about 5100 rpm's. I read somewhere that someone ran out fifth on a dyno jet and tached at about 181mph (6,000rpm).

5th is the top gear, your not gonna top that speed in 6th, its a gear reduction, it would make more sense to keep it in 5th and just build an engine with more rpm's
