Default Cobra, how much HP?

Ok, I have raced 2 different Cobras from a roll with similar results and was wondering how much RWHP they would need to stay even with me while I'm in third gear. I have a Z06 with 400 rwhp that is around 3100 lbs and as I said I couldn't pull either Cobra in 3rd gear, when I switched to 4th I was easily able to put several cars on the Cobras in both races, most likely due to aerodynamics and maybe gearing. Any guesses what RWHP range they were in? I'm guessing 460-500rwhp but maybe I'm off.

In my expereince, a FRC/Z06 will need 400 rwhp to run and JUST pull(at around third gear, you'd start creeping by, 4th gear, you'd be noticably pulling on him. Once he hits fifth, he's done, unless you can't hit fifth yourself) on one of them.

power to weight, come into effect at the top of third gear.

Driving hard, does have alot to do with it as well. If your granny shifting,...your probably gonna have a problem.

I have a vid (quality not great) of a grudge match between a 460rwhp Cobra and a 380rwhpbolt-on Z06, both very good drivers and the Z06 slightly pulls.

I'd say about 450rwhp. I went 11.29 with 460rwhp, but ET goes out the window from
a roll since it's all based on hook and rowing the gears. I believe I trapped 123mph if
I recall correctly. Trap speed is what you'd want to compare find the answer to your
question. What are you trapping?

LOL, the double clutch reference was a sarcastic remark, it is from fast and furious. Double clutching is when you press the clutch in let it out, press it again, shift, and then let it out and go. This is only used in tractor trailor trucks and huge trucks like that, and **** even those dont have to do double clutch anymore. We now have syncronized transmissions today that do not need to be double clutched to shift right. Any reference you hear around here about double clutching is just a smart ***, sarcastic comment. If you hear about "double clutching" from a ricer, he may actually be serious about it since Vin Diesel mentioned it in the movie.LOL

Power to weight ratio from Vette to Cobra.... generally you can cut about 50rwhp from the Cobra to make up the difference so there's your answer.

I had to double clutch my Fiero when the slave cylinder was failing. It was the only way to get it into gear. So, there are some uses for double clutching.

that sounds "about" right. With 450rwhp I can pull a friends stock 02 Z06 (I trapped 121, he trapped 117)

I would think with a tune, headers, cam you would be over 400, Guess it depends on the parts. We were thinking of doing longtubes, cam, tune and supporting mods and they (Synergy) said we should be at around 430whp said they do it all the time.
