got spanked.. yesterday i was on my way back from a friends house when i see some 300z(old ones, no idea of year) cutting through traffic. i got behind him and we were ******* around until we got to a stop right beside eachother. i rolled my window down and he gave me props on a nice car etc. i asked if he wanted to run and he said lets go. so he revs up and launches it, and definitly got a good jump on me and once i hit it all i do is spin from 1st to 2nd gear hit 3rd still trying to keep my car from going sideways and he put like 4-5 car lenghts on me. next light we get to he says "how much horsepower?" and i gave him a wild guess and said "340". i said i couldnt get traction and he laughed and said yeah i saw you in my rear view mirror. the dude was really chill and friendly. now i just need to get some traction! 
i think if the race woulda been from a roll or maybe longer than a 4-5 second race (short road) maybe it woulda been a different story!!! oh well theres always next time!

2nd pic 300z has 300hp stock and are fairly heavy cars. Get some traction and you should have no problem if he was stock. But it doesn't sound like it.
Time for more mods.
im assuming i have 340 hp. ls6 intake, U/D pulley, full exhaust and tune...it definitly woulda been a dif. story if i had traction. he might not have been stock, im not sure

He beat you by 4-5 cars in a 4-5 second race?!?!!? DAMN! Hey man, I know some ppl who have had those cars, and I saw one in H-town with HUGE exhaust (it was not riced out, it looked functional, no gay wings or stickers or crap, jet black...and it was fast, i didnt even attempt it (stock LT1 at the time). Those can be VERY nasty if you are willing to shell out, it sounds like the guy might have been the type of character to have done so...
lol well its hard to describe the race...seeing how i was barely getting down the road and he was already at the end about to take a turn by the time i got straightened out. he prob literally got 3-4 car lengths on me

oh, i been there...stock 05 base mustang v my late launching (to her PERFECT LAUNCH) and my spinning like a fool (to her DEAD HOOKING) putting 1 car on me to 50 mph where i was reeling her in but let off due to where I was. I understand your plight.
now that i think back about it ive never tried launching this car, or have i raced from a dig with my ss. so i definitly need a little practice......and some new tires
