Guy talkin junk to me Okay..well one of my Co-Workers has an early 80s camaro..its an automatic (turbo 350), it has a 327 in it, he told me that it has been rebuilt but with all the stock components except for after market flat top pistons. It has an ISKY cam..its pretty agressive but i'm not to sure of the specs on it. He told me that it has "camelback" heads or something like that??? 
He said they came stock..and that supposedly they are the best flowing heads GM has ever produced. It has flowmaster mufflers. He has 2.93 gears also, and he asked me if i wanted to race...i said sure why not, he told me that he wants to go from like a 30 roll, and shut it down at about 120 or so. I said that was fine by me..he seems pretty confident that he's gonna beat me pretty bad...he said his dad told him to take it easy on me, lol. 
...he told me that he'll give me a ride after he beats me, so i dont know what i'm in for. He told me that he's never ridden in an LS1, or raced one for that matter, he's never raced his car at the track because "his gears suck for the 1/4"...Well anyways, no offense to the guy or anything..but his car looks like a complete POS, it looks like it has tractor tires on it or something..but anyways do you guys think that my car has any chance in hell?? Or do you think that i'll beat him pretty bad? My mods and times are in my sig.
PS-we have to wait a few weeks to race, because he's running the stock valve springs on that bigass cam..and has broken a spring (actually this is his 2nd stock spring he's broken, and he still hasnt replaced them with something that can handle the cam) Anyway...just let me know what'cha guys think..just be honest with me..if you think i'll get my *** handed to me just tell me straight up. Thanks.

My friend has an 83 indy pace car with a 327 with 2.02 valves and camal back heads. Those motors came with about 275 hp (rated in the 60's) and as far as his performance, he should be slightly faster than the TBI 350, or thereabouts. nothing to worry about, go run him when he fixes it.

MY GOD!!!!!!! If I hear 1 more person say "camel back" or "humper heads" are the best ever I'm going to snap! I get this all the time around here.People come up to me and ask me what I got,A 350?and I say bolt ons,stock internals not really a 350 though. And then they say "I used to have a 73 monte carlo with a 3/4 race cam and humper heads that would walk all over that ss", ooooookkkkkk. DONT take it easy on him, you will absolutely MURDER him.The ls1 has been out for what 9 years now? If he doesn't know by now take him to school. Sorry bout the rant.

This guy sounds like one of the mullet equiped rednecks that wears his acid washed denim jacket and his whitesnake tour t-shirt when he's cruising in his IROC-Z with the t-tops off, that gives us F-body guys the common stereotype.

It was a generic term for "75% race 25% street" I don't think there was ever a cam made specifically called that. Basically it's for stupid people to impress stupider people.

He sounds like the folks who think the police cruisers have special high output engines to catch criminals.
I think you should tell him that you refuse to race him unless you give him a 1 car head start and the move, just to make the *** whooping a little easier for him to take. Tell him you have the highly coveted and rare camel toe LS9 heads with optional dirty knees throttle body.

kick his *** seabass. even a bunch of my friends still think that old carbed engines you tune with a screw are superior to newer things and easier to mod. Cheaper to tune is the only benefit.

Well I was about to say do you mean doublehump heads but someone beat me to it...only way I've ever heard them referred as.........
And yea, people use to be crazy over them, but I dont think it's as bad now. If he hasnt ever seen an LS1 run, then just show him how it goes.

yeah some old school guys around here use those terms all the time. they say "yo I gotta 1/2 race cam in my 80s 305 cutlass and I'm going to a full race cam soon, and I'll walk anything"
Kinda reminds me of the one guy putting a ball valve on his one heatcore line so he could shutoff the flow of coolant to the heatercore and keep all the coolant in the radiator so it would go faster..
