Default 98 T/A vs 00 SS vs Porsche *VIDEO*

well my friend said he had some friends that wanted to race me... i was told one kid drove a "fast porsche"... and the other kid thought he was cool because he had a trans am with a corvette motor, go figure

anyways, i meet up with them all, turns out the porsche is a 80's style 944, with the 5.0 v8... and the trans am with a corvette motor turned out to be a nice red 2000 A4 SS, with some mods.

so we all head out and meet up with some other cars, but the SS kid made a video of us racing, and him racing the porsche. i was suprised at how close in comparison our cars were. the first race from a dig sucked for me, bogged like mad and he got a nice jump, the second race was alilttle different, went from a 25roll and as soon as i started pulling at about 60mph he cut off

The Porsche is a 928.

Did you have any other info on it? GTS, S4?

Good races.

It's a 928S. My guess would be an '85. Sounds like an automatic

The 928's were fast cars, just not the quickest.

you casn tell he is going easy on the theottle in first esp the last run you had to let off because of wheel spin. good kills.

the TA hung in their really good if he was stock to your mods.

i thought the porsche was a 944... i dont know though. all i know is it was auto, and a 5.0 v8. and the SS was A4 his mods were a programmer, lid, cutout, catback, and some other stuff he didnt show in the vid.

stanger88- i actually didnt spin that much at all, suprisingly... but the 1-2 shift i spun.

gxpower- i thought my car held up nice too considering he had about the same mods as me, on top of the extra power from the SS package.

really? i heard they had a 15-20hp advantage? then whats the point of spending the extra money on a SS over a z28? just for appearance?

yes, some came with slp 345 hp power options like exhaust and lid and some with just the hood, wheels ,spoiler, and suspension. they gave them an extra 15 hp over stock because of the ram air hood which really does not work so well and make it sound better than the z28 with 310 hp.

Porsche 944's had a 4 cylinder in them, very similar to the 924's... The 928 had the V8, which was in the video(of course whoever was talking in the video has no clue on how to correctly pronounce Porsche, but whatever).

Basically an LS1 is an LS1 is an LS1... in stock form, they were all very similar in regards to the power they put down and the times they ran.

Nice races Close race between you and the camaro. That Porsche on the other hand got owned

thanks... it was a very close race, till about 60 when i started edging him and he cut off... i told him next time lets get to a higher speed

and ya the porsche had no chance to begin with... i guess he was talking crap about my car for a couple weeks now, saying how he would kill my car in a race, then that night when i rolled up cutout open and everything, he wouldnt even acknowledge me, saying he didnt want to race me anymore...

IIRC the 928 is the only Porshe car to have a v8 in it from the factory.
