You will be fine with H/C as long as a decent head and cam like 580+. He would atleast need a ported blower to whip ya. It never ends. Just get a 100 shot and beat him bad.

580+??? Are you saying that if he gets a cam and heads he will be at 580 horsepower??? I certainly hope not because thats impossible. If im just missunderstanding I apologize.

Sorry, 580 cam lift. My 99 SS had a 233/239/605 w/ LS6 59cc heads and that bitch pulled good! I needed to port my blower to beat it. Go 600 lift man, high compression heads and you will love it!

I was really thinking about getting a cam like the tr224 on a 112 but on a .580 lift. It just seems like 230+ cam is just kinda of big for a 346 ci motor. I know a lot of people here are having great results with the 230+ cam but it seems like they need a 4.10 to make up for the low to mid range. I would like to keep the stock gear size 3.42 and have great power down low and not have to spin the motor up to 7k. Im not into peak hp how ever I would like great usable power and better average rwtq. I hope that makes sence. Any feed back would be great. Lastly I dont want anyone to think that I am knocking the 230+ cams because I know people are putting great numbers on the forum. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for the support and responses. One more question would the cam and heads offset his pulley or would he just walk me silly?
Before I was pullied i could kill from a dead stop. Traction was obtainable with a stock pulley. You would probably kill him from a stop even if he is pullied due to 1st and 2nd being useless.

Depends how these cars a setup. HP is useless without traction. I don't care if he makes 470-500rwhp, if you can't put it to the ground, whats the use?

BUT, stay away from a 50+ highway roll.

Bro, you'll be fine.

Try something like a 231/237 .592/.599 @ 112.4 with a 3.42 will be more then perfect. Just change your springs to a 921(dual valve spring). You won't loose any torque on the bottom, if anything, you'll gain,...not to mention SICK midrange to your peak rpm. Highly recommend something like this. Wicked idle, and great results. If you need more, go to some go go juice.

You just need to race a strong Cobra to see what they can really do.
There's a few twin turbo Cobra local to me that move pretty well.

Twin turbo Cobra huh. Sounds like thats more like a family bucket man. I dont think I could eat all that by myself.lol I have raced 1 seriously badass Whipple charged 03 Cobra. MMMMmm Yummy! I have contacted a guy a couple of towns over that is putting 65x to the ground. He is down right now but we will hook it up when he replaces his input shaft. I love the cars please dont take me the wrong way.lol I know one day I will find the Terminator that will hand me my ***. It is out there. Then I will spend more money when that happens.

How does a 25lb boost 2.4 KB, 200 wet shot, Auto 4:30 geared 3200lb Terminator sound? Thats me, just one step at a time. Even then there are faster cars. Ohwell, thats the fun part I guess.

You need to find a Cobra that makes 600+ on the blower. That's good for 10.60's @ 130+mph or so...then hit that with nitrous. That's when the
fun starts.
