Nice Kill. Don't have any use for **** that go around lieing. You said he's got a pulley and tune? If so, very nice kill. That mean's you've got a 11 second car with the spray. Pulley and tune cobras with drag radials are usually hitting in the 11's. Oh, the GT500 is putting out the same power as my car and I only have a air filter and catback exhaust. I'm not thinking they'll be so great.

Sweet. I'm not too familiar with 1/8 miles times. Thanks for the info. Your car sounds like a beast.

So they're going to make 394rwhp?
Where'd you get this info?
I seriously doubt it.
They'll be rated at 475hp and I wouldn't be surprised to see them making ~450rwhp.

Nice kill to the original poster!

If you can't spell it, don't use it.
Anything can happen on the street. Anything.
And the GT500 will probably be a monster, seeing as how it has the same motor in the Ford GT that has around 600bhp. Only it's 'detuned.' What did they do? Restrictive exhaust, bigger pulley to drop it down to a mere 460rwhp?

More incorrect information. It shares many of the same components, but
it's not the same motor. It doesn't even have the Ford GT block. The GT500
block is iron, not aluminum.

Same heads and cams as the GT, iron block, smaller blower, exhaust is kind of an unknown item right now and yes...I believe it's running a few psi less than the GT. The power is going to come from those killer heads it's going to have.
I'd agree...they'll probably be in the 450-460rwhp range with stronger cars making a bit more.

The iron block is a good thing. The '500 has a live-axle for a reason, a lot of people will be boosting the crap out of it in a drag type application. And boosting the crap of a motor is a bit easier on an iron block.

I really cant wait to see the Z06 versus '500 threads. Lots of chest pounding and trash talking from both sides Im sure.

C5Z06's maybe. I don't think the new Z would have much trouble with it. Not unless Ford put it on a major diet.

I disagree. The aluminum block would've been much better. The reason
Ford opted to go with the iron block for the GT500 is due to the extremely
expensive GT block. Ford went with the solid axle in an effort to cut costs as well. An IRS would've been several more thousand dollars.

Tell Harlan that you can't run a lot of boost on an aluminum block.

The vert versions are over 4,000 right? Even America's cars are fat, this country is gonna start sinking soon.

Oh, I just figure if you throw a 15% drive train loss the numbers out to be close. The just don't think they are going to be putting out that great of numbers. I wish it would be just an animal, I just don't think it will be. The live axle is nice, but the weight of the thing is just too much.

Sad but sooooo right. We could save so much gas.......and have a shitload of fun if our cars were 500lbs lighter. Id pay extra for a lightweight version.
