Not a good choice on an '03/'04 Cobra.
There's a reason ATI doesn't make a kit for the '03/'04 Cobras anymore.

Agreed...a F1 on a '03 Cobra is a joke IMO.

They put out a kit, but it sucked *****. Absolutely no down low power.
It would pull like a freight train up top though. That's to be expected
from a centrifugal blower. Having 500+rwtq at 2,500rpm with a KB
or a Whipple makes for a great street / track car. IMO, I'd only run
a big centrifugal is if it was strictly a drag car, which would never
see below 5,000 rpm anyway.

Skip the D1 and do a F1R.

I'm in the Marines. I leave to go to Japan here soon. I figure, I'll call one of the sponsors and ask them what they can do for me.
Me: Hello XXXXX sponsor
? sponsor: yes, how can I help you?
Me: Well, I want no less than 550rwhp.
? sponsor: Um..ok. You sure? What do you have?
Me: 01 Z28 A4, has some mods already
? sponsor:ok.
Me: look, I'm in the Marines and I'm going to Japan for 6-7months. I dont care what you do, how you do it. I just want my car back when I get back, it better be running 10s if not faster.
? sponsor: Alrighty then.
Me: good, my car will be there in a week. Click!

Not me, If I were to change the blower on a Cobra I would have just put a turbo on it and made even more hp and no belt slip..

Just watched the vid from the other posting. Man you did much better than it sounded like it was going to be. That cobra is maybe 250-300lbs lighter than stock and is between 560 - 620 rwhp. I think you did great man !!

No offence man, but tell your buddy to put down the crack pipe. A 408 will out run a 346 with a charger on it. Plust once you go through and do a built 346 with charger, you are into it for more than a 408. I cant understand that logic.

Looks like about 4 cars between you guys. 5 if you count his entire car...which is what I thought one should do.

If you win by 1 car that means they are right behind your bumper with their nose.

looks like 5 cars total. But anyway...that is not even right. From the looks of the vid a strong heads and cam car with a 6 speed would have been all over that car from a roll.

Maybe his gears a screwing him up really bad...it looked like you started to gain ground and or he stopped pulling you at the end of the vid.

Why does it always seem like if an ls1 races a cobra and they are within 20 horsepower of each other the ls1 beats the **** out of it. Maybe it is just the vids I have seen but it usually takes 50rwhp more on the cobra to get a decisive win.

and even then who knows.

do any of you guys remember the jaegermiester 2k video...or however you spell it? the car was a full bolt on ls1 ss with an average size cam...putting out around 390-400 at the the wheels at most. He beat a bolt on, pullied cobra by about 1-2 cars in that video...and the cobra dynoed 450 to the wheels.

I have also raced a stock 03 cobra when I had my 224 cam untuned and I wasted him. And we would be about the same power levels...him maybe having more. Maybe it is just driver error, and videos that arent all that truthful.... I know about the weight difference, but its not that much.

4 or 5 cars, it really doesnt matter. its not like it was measured, its just estimated. but yea that guy should have pulled a lot more than even what he did.
