Default Stock 1/4 mile and 0-60 times

I am not sure if this will help or if everyone has already seen this, but it might stop some of the bench racing. This list covers stock vehicle 1/4 mile and 0-60 times as reported by various magazines. It should at least give people an idea of what the cars they are about to race are capable of stock, and then figure in mods and you can get a decent idea of what you are about to race.

Hope this helps,
Alex

It seems like they get most of their times from good sources. The times also seem revy realistic. I love the site, and just thought I would share with anyone who hasn't found it.

1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 6.8 15.1
1992 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 6.7 15.2
1994 Eagle Talon TSi AWD 6.6 14.6
Why the discrepancy? It's the same damn car. That however is not bad for a car that came out in the early 90's. Mid 6's knot to 60mph was stellar back then. Pretty much identical to the Z28 Camaro of the same year.

I used to go there a lot, it's great for giving you a general idea but unless they were all recorded in a a head to head comparison there are simply too many variables.

How does a 94 Talon run a 14.6 with a 6.6 0-60 and AWD? They must have killer top end, or the site is not as accurate as we thought.

They don't run 14.6 in the 1/4, thats ridiculous. More like low 15's, obviously that number is off.

Ok, it might not be the most accurate on all the times, but it is still good for a general idea. Might help get rid of some of those, "So my friend has a (insert can here) I was wondering what it could run, and if I would win."

So your saying that a stock talon CANNOT run a 14.6 fresh from the factory?
I agree with you that it's not normal, or necassarily likely, but I definitely wouldn't say that it CAN'T be done, considering that sometimes the stock boost level varies from car to car, usually between 8 and 12psi. If the car was on 11 or 12 psi then that 14.6 should be no problem.

There are stickies on this subject in the main forums.
Do some research, and you won't need threads like this.

2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (5 Speed) 4.7 13.2 (MT Feb 05)
2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Auto) 5.6 13.88 (MT Apr 04)
Does this make much sense. I know an auto may be a little slower but damn!

1991 GMC Syclone 5.3 14.1 (M/T Sept 91)
1993 GMC Typhoon 5.3 14.1 (M/T June 93)

??The trucks running the same timeswhile the weight is ~500 difference? The Syclone was a bit quicker as tested.

Those numbers are actually right on. Automatic Mustang's are complete dogs. The combination of tall gear ratios, high parasitic loss, and the torque converter slippage really make the car slow.

So the auto is about a 8/10ths slower in 0-60MPH and about a half second slower in the 1/4 mile. Manual is the only way to go.

Actually, it can but again, it's not common. Generally accepted stock times for a 1G AWD 5-speed are 14.8-15.2. I never got to run mine at the track while it was bone stock. By the time I got it home a full turboback exhaust system was in the mail.

I suppose a 14.6 is possible if you had a professional driver drop the clutch at 6K, powershift every gear, and run a perfect pass down the strip. Possible, just not likely.
