Default Another Eclipse goes down

This was pretty typical of the street races I find myself in. Just random meetings at red lights. This Eclipse was older with the rounded back end. I dont know the modifications of it but the badges were off and it had the long big pipe under the car leading to the infamous fart can. Well the light turns green & I instantly jump 2-3 cars ahead. Then I floor it & my back end
floats from side to side. Im on stock tires now but hopefully that will change soon. After I was ahead about a 4-5 cars I slowed down to 40ish. He caught up to me but wouldnt look over. He wouldnt pass me either but made no indication he wanted to race again.
I went home happy but felt kind of sorry for the guy. Oh well, at least I brought the guy back into reality.

I have to ask, do you guys see a difference between a fart can and a full 3" exhaust? Just wondering.

My point is, a full 3" exhaust is a functional, practical mod. A fart can is not. Dont make the mistake of equating the two as being the same.

Big difference. Most "ricers" will hang a fart can with an outlet the size of a CD running from a 2" I-pipe, which IMO is retarted and serves no purpose except to get the annoying sound. :

A full 3" exhaust (header, I-pipe, muffler) is another story and usually when done like this they sound a lot better and not so much like a weedwhacker. It also does help gain HP unlike just the fartcan.

I wish I could do a recording of mine somehow. 3 inch mandrel al the way through 3 inch in and out muffler, it has 3 bends in the whole system. It does get some drone at about 3K RPM, but definitely not the nasty high-pitch resonance of fart cans.
