SS vs. Turbo 350Z

No one was questioning you about that. And if it makes you feel better, I was referring to a stock block greddy turbo'd 350Z. Cause I don't think you are stock if you can run your 350Z@27psi. Don't let your testosterone get the best of you. Always remember, anything can happen on the street and that there is always someone faster. I too can brag about my horsepower, but in the end it doesn't amount to how much horsepower but how you can handle that horsepower. Peace!
Sorry Nokeman, I don't mean to steal the thread, I just want to make sure the gentleman knows that I am not attacking his 350Z. Again good Kill!

Well the problem is 350Z people like there 19inch rims with there rubber band little as side wall tires for the RACE look. So TT or turbo ones dotn run around on DRs like alot of Fbodys do. I raced a TT G35 and walked it all day, and just killed it from a dig, and Even spotted it out.
25PSI I think you agree with me most 350Z people dont run on DRs at all, and run street tires.
If a stock Fbody has traction problems, im sure a TT Z car with IRS is going to has even worse....

I knoe the strret and the track are different, but I was at the track and there was a turbo350z there. I dont know if it was a tt or not. I also didnt see if it had dr's or not(prob not). I am not saying they are slow either, but the one I saw at the track was running like low 13's. I was kind of surprised myself as I thought it would be running quicker than that.

Nice kill, but I'm puzzled....
I guess anything can happen in a roll race but I thought the average TT 350z w/ stock internals won't put over 400whp down, but they still manage anywhere from 380-390ish. With that said, I don't think a bolt on LS1 (No cam, no Nitrous) could put down those numbers.
I know the guy who bought my LS1 put down 340 and that was with full bolts on and a Fast intake manifold too. Being an A4 with a stall I would think a M6 might put maybe 20-25whp more. I wouldn't think that would be enough to walk away from a TT 350. But then again, I'm bench racing and as we all know, numbers don't reflect reality. Just caught myself ranting Good kill!

First off, i dont think it was a TT. Second of all, I never said I walked away from him. In fact, I said it was a very good race and only only beat him by almost a car.

When people started turbocharging the 350, it was speculated that it will only make 400hp without doing the bottom end. Now people are doing 500-550+ on stock internals. I've been running over 450rwhp now for 15,000 miles without a problem. It's all in the tuning.

a ls1 doesnt have to match the 350z HP to run as quick as one. isnt the 350z heavier?
i dont see any 350z aorund 300 whp running 13 flats. so i figure. if a 350z that has enough mods to get aorund 300-320 whp cant hit a 13 to 13.2 area. then why wouldnt anyone belive a full bolt on ls1 who stock run 13 flat mabe 12's with DR. a full bolt on ls1 probly will run what low 12s. seems right up the alley of a base turbo 350z to me probly actually quicker than the average base turbo Z

Theres just too many variables and not enough info. I mean a person granny shifting a turboed 350z and a person powershifting a turboed 350z is going to have a big different in the outcome. So will the tune, how much psi he is pushing, etc...i say good kill on a nice car and be done with it lol.

i have pulled a heads and cam, full bolt on TA before when my car had cam, LT's and stock intake(ls1), TB(ls1), no pulley, his wasnt tuned mine was.. anything can happen on the street, just because a car has certain modifications doesnt mean its going to run the same as everyone else's car that has those mods....if that was the case then everyone that has a t-rex cam would put down mid 400's rwhp cam only..maybe his car was just faster at that time and he pulled.. I say good kill

The 350 was probably running Turbonetics ST kit at like 8 psi with a conservitive tune. I really don't find it that hard to believe that a full bolt on LS1 walked it. With that kit it's probably making 340-370 whp and running mid to high 12's. I know that LS1s can do that with mods cause most do, what a 13.2-13.4 stock? The story makes plenty of sense to me but all we can do is assume because the Z owner isn't here to say what it is.

yea no use bragging who is faster and what not because lord knows both our cars look better and handle better than this thing but. i doubt any of us would stay within a bus lenght of it in the 14
in the end to each his own. their is always a faster car.

considering a sts turbo at 5 psi on an ls1 gives what 400 whp? thats just 5 psi. thats the magic of displacement. we dont need 4985749679548764 lbs boost to get large amount of power form FI

STS turbo ls1's do not make that much power at 5 psi. My car at 7 psi makes about the same as you do at 5. Look at my sig, 416rwhp at 6-7psi. You just cant through a turbo on a car and expect it to be faster, just becuase theres a turbo on it.
