Default anyone race nose to tail?

What do you all think of racing when there's someone else directly in front of you on a one lane road and he pulls out hard and you look to prove you can keep up with him? Do you think that's just too dangerous?

I stopped at a stoplight behind a silver RSX Type S the other day on a one lane road. I saw him eyeing up my car in his mirror so I was prepared that he might go for it. Sure enough when the light changed he pulled out hard and tried to pull away from me. I rolled into it easy and let him get 6-7 cars ahead, then went wide open and reeled him in real fast and hung onto his bumper until I felt like backing off. Looking back in retrospect that was probably pretty stupid though. If he was angry enough that I was hanging with him he could have just slammed on the brakes at any time and bought himself a brand new RSX and I'dve been introduced to much higher insurance rates.

Worst part is since I technically didn't PASS him now he's probably out there posting on some Acura board that he ran a Z28 the other day and I couldn't pass him, without bothering to mention it was a one lane road, LOL.

I've done that with an STI. I'd get on his *** then back off, then get back on his ***, about 3 times. Looking back it was stupid, but pride can make you do a lot of things. haha

A 505 whp cobra did the same to me, then pulled around and left. Reminds me of my german shepherd when he chased down an opossum one time. (spelling owns me). It was REALLY REALLY REALLY ugly. In retrospect, he only did it b/c i was a fellow mustang owner, tailgate racing isnt cool.

As long as you are reasonably sensible about it I don't see an issue with it, 95% of all street racing in thr UK ends up with one person behind the other, however it's not usually in a straightline or even at WOT all of the time. Think of it as two race cars follwing each other as they would on a road course or a circuit.

I mean is it really any safer being next to a car at speed or under WOT conditions, if they spun out they'd take you with them.

It's still too risky. it's not like we are on a closed circuit.

Yeah, I've done it a time or two m'self. I don't stay on the bumper long at all though. I just run up on 'em long enough for them to get the message.

Neither are we and in fact street racing happens in more places than just the USA yet the USA is the only place that has a grid system for it's road layouts.

Running nose to tail is far safer than running side by side ost of the time over here because you would end up with one person on the wrong side of the road facing on coming traffic otherwise.

I wont and will not do it, it's stupid. What if something jumps out in front of them and you don't see it, then they slam on their brakes and your both screwed. Not to mention your drafting them so you aren't really proving ****.

at low speeds the aero advantage is negligable at best. And if you are side by side and someone pulls out in front of you how much better are your chances.

As I said as long as you are not stupid it's fine but if you have no experience driving on such roads under such coditions then it's pretty stupid to say hay don't do that.

From a dig I'd agree it would be dangerous and not worth it but from a roll it's just fun. The person in front pulls away hard from a turn or round-about and you simply follow. It's not a competition nor is there any prize money so don't take it so serious.

Dumbest thing ever! One day some dumbass will hit the brakes on you and you will find yourself in the driver's seat of the other car. Not too smart - stay safe.

Wow,dude maybe it's location thing ,but that sounds crazy to try in FLA.We race side by side , cutting infront of each other sounds way more dangerous to me.
