The 5.0 came in LX models too holy crap i didn't know that

And those specs are wrong, for one the 93 cobra was rated at 235hp not 245hp. And a vert only weighing in at 2900lbs LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are the closest i've seen
Model Trans Weight(lbs) Distribution (ft/rr)
LX 5.0L Sedan Manual 3040 59.2/40.8
LX 5.0L Sedan Auto 3100 59.3/40.7
LX 5.0L Hatchback Manual 3105 57.8/42.2
LX 5.0L hatchback Auto 3165 58.0/42.0
LX 5.0L Convertible Manual 3240 57.8/42.2
LX 5.0L Convertible Auto 3300 57.8/42.2

1993 Cobra Manual 3260 57.6/42.4

The vert is closer to 3000 (2996)pounds. I can see that on a v6 with the base trim. Those are just the basic standard mustangs. Other options would be slightly heavier, but no more than 200 pounds being extremely conservative. I agree, I thought it was 235 too for the last year. Maybe they are underated, lol.

There was no V6 mustangs in the 87-93 foxbody. And the vert was not 3000 lbs either. Where in the hell are you getting your specs? The specs i posted are pretty close to what they weigh with no driver and everything.

The cobras were alittle underrated BUT they were still rated by ford at 235hp. And there was only one year the cobra was made in the foxbodies that was 1993.

even better than! A v8 wasn't the only option for those years, so if it's not a v6 as the other motor than it's a 4 banger which would be even lighter.

My friend had a 1990 lx version, full tank of fuel and him it weighed in at 3200/3300 pounds. He's a big guy, around 240 pounds.

I've been around them for awhile, those were the muscle cars of the time.

http://www.edmunds.com/used/1990/for...475/specs.html

That's now two sources now.

Base curb weight is 2827 from them. Similar numbers that consumer's report guide posted too. The gt is about 400 pounds heavier. I need to check, because I can't remember off hand. But a lx 5.0 could be 2800-2900 pounds.

Well we aren't talking about a 4 cylinder, i'm talking about 5.0's. I've been around mustang's since i was 4 year's old so i've been around them for awhile myself. And if you've been around them so much you woulda known everything i've already said. I'm not saying a no option notch couldn't weigh 2900lbs but your saying a vert weighs that and your wrong, hell your saying they all weigh below 3000lbs and your wrong.

And your "sources" suck *** man seriously. The GT is not 400lb's heavier, my specs come from corral.net and stangnet. Actual mustang sites i think they would know what their own car's are weighing in at don't you.

89 Notch AOD 3090 w/o spare and jack and on Weld Draglites

89 gt, weighed in at 3050 pounds without me in it, heres what i had done to it. fiberglass hood, fiberglass gt40 rear bumper cover, removed fog lights and bracket, removed all a/c components, removed smog components, off road h-pipe(weighed a lot less than stock) put replacement carpet in, thin stuff from autozone, and left out the sound deadening stuff under it. and i took out all of my spare tire components.

My 93 has stock front suspension, stock front seats, and AC/PS. It had a rear seat delete, all sound deadening removed and replaced with a single thin layer of dynamat (10 pounds worth at most), no spare or tools, aluminum heads, and weld draglites with M/T tires. It weighs 3080 without me in it, with a 1/8 tank of gas.

88 GT 3240 without me in it. This is without any smog,a/c, no front sway bar, no fog light bracket.

My 91 LX vert weighs in at 3350 with no driver.

my 89 gt vert weighs 3300 without me in it

89 LX vert its at 3420.

my friends 88 lx was just over 3000 and my other friends 93 gt was just over 3200.

Care for me to go on? As you can see every mustang i just posted was 3000 or over.

I'm not going to argue with you. It's pointless. Just a note, dynomat is extremely heavy. Each box is 100 pounds. I've done many. That's about 8 sheets I believe. You can easily use 2 if your doing the whole car including the roof.

Edmunds.com is a very respectable site. I guess my buddy's 5.0 lx was off too.

Take it too the local dump for a tare weight. I've seen more track scales off than you count.

And you have a gt weighing 3050. If you had a lx, it's 400-500 pounds lighter. and minus that dynomat, even more Subs in the car?

I too was around 5.0 stangs. If it wasn't a 5.0, I didn't care, so it's easy to recall that it was another motor. And if you was around mustangs so long, you would of known that a 5.0 was an option in lx.

Like I said, I'm done debating, if you believe that 5.0 lx are not under 3k, more power to you.

What a joke, your right it is pointless aruging with someone that doesn't have a clue. My sister has a 5.0 notch back LX how in the f%$k could i not have known LOL.

And you should be done debating i posted facts from peoples cars from mustang boards. Not some dumbass car site that you feel is 100% correct.

And what GT weighted 3050 with everything stock that i posted???? The only one i see it has quite a few weight mods to it.

What made the fox bodies so great was the way the 5.0 took to mods and the weight and suspension of the car. A 347 may only put up 375-400rwhp but is a solid 10 sec ride on tires. My buddies solid roller 306 making 400rwhp runs 11.0-11.2s all day long.

Ok, lets put up the childish comments. Half those cars on those sites have been modified. Like I said, so if your feel that your correct than that's fine.

And a GT convertible isn't lighter than a LX convertible.

And an automatic I believe is 100 pounds heavier than the 5 speed.

Those mustang guys are not arguing edmunds.com site. I'm done, if you want to talk about it some more, than just pm me. Like I said, don't go to the track for the weight. Take it to the local dump in your area.

What childish comments did i say??? I was stating a fact LOL. I'm sorry if i caused you some kinda mental distress from saying anything negative towards you . What's your point they've been modified i proved my point that in stock form they don't weigh what you said. Even modified with lighter stuff they still don't weigh what you said. You keep going back an forth on this one sided debate to make it look like your proving something.

Who said the GT vert is lighter then an LX vert.

Here's a refresher of your statements
nope. Foxbody is extremely light (2800 pounds). That 347 stroker is putting down 400+whp. Now if he's bottle feeding it. Lookout!
Oh they don't weigh that not the v8 model, sure a 4 cyl. does but i never said the 4 cyl. didn't weigh that.

And you have a gt weighing 3050. If you had a lx, it's 400-500 pounds lighter. and minus that dynomat, even more Subs in the car?
Intersting stuff it shows a GT on the site weighing only 134lb's more then a LX unlike your statement of 400lbs. And i've seen tons and tons of posts on corral and stangnet about mustang weights and there are alot that do not weigh that edmunds or whatever else site says they weigh.

Anyway yeah i'm done, don't expect a PM from me either .

ok, it's 100 pounds more for a v8. 150 maybe tops. It's still under 3000 pounds. Why do you think 400+whp foxbodies run 10s, because they are 3300 pounds. Dammit, see, you keep me commenting. Ok, i'm done.
