Default Old junker sentra SE-R... or so I thought....

Got a little bored tonight and decided to go get some gas since it was such a nice night in good ole southern california. Just cruisin around burning a little gas enjoying the night, these set of headlights come flying up from behind me and get into the lane next to me.Light ahead turns red that we were approaching. As we get close, slowing down, maybe at 15 mph the light turns green. All I hear is 4 cylinders of glory screaming their heart out, I figured it was just another ricer. I punch it at about 15 in first gear and run it all the way up to top of 3rd at 100mph. As I'm accelerating I'm looking in my rear view to see if a set of headlights show up. To my suprise I see nothing. Instead I take a glance to my right, and at about my rear quarterpanel I see the car. Suprised the hell out of me. So at 100 I hit the brakes because I'm not really into doing top speed runs around town. At this point I'm thinking WTF just happened. I give the "nod of approval" at the next light we catch and continue on my way.

I head towards the gas station and pull up to the pump and get out of my car. Then I notice its the sentra SE-R filling up its tank. I try to make eye contact as to spark up a conversation, but it seemed as if he wanted nothing of it. So I carry on my way filling my tank. Just about when I was finished, the guy goes to leave and his car wont start. He rolls down the exit of the gas station only to have the battery die on him right there. Well thats no fun. So I decide to go help him.

I go up to him and say "this car sure is one hell of a sleeper" and he laughed and said "yeah, its no where near stock". I offer to help him push it back up in the gas station so he's not hangin out in the street (not exactly safe). So we push it up to a parking spot and he gets out. He said it was a fully built motor pushing 7-8psi because he had the boost turned down or something. Said itd be running 11s at 20psi. We talked for a few, he shook my hand and said THANKS! complimented my car and we were on our way.

What really gets me is this is the closest race I've ever been in and it was what I thought to be an easy kill gone incredibly wrong. I'm still sittin here thinking to myself WTF? I mean the car looked like it had over 200k miles on it and the paint looked neglected, but DAMN was it fast!

edit: Oh yeah, this is my first "posted" kill

turboed se-r is nasty. I read an article about 10 years ago about one. It was racing a supercharged 5.0 which was pretty stout of the time.. It ran 11s back than according to the article. It had a mean top end, it was pulling in the supercharged 5.0 according to the article.

I can bet those things could run some 10s with todays technology.

Lol yeah thats what first came to my mind when he said that. I was thinking, oh jeez here comes the ricer bullshit. However, becauses it seemed like a no BS car I kinda believe him. I'm still suprised it kept up that well. From the outside it looked completely stock. I mean, half his brake lights didnt even work and the tint looked like it was bubbling and old.

He didnt say, just said fully built motor pushing 7-8psi with the boost turned down and was going to be running 20psi soon. Altho the sound definitely reminded me of my friends WRX.

They come with SR20s just in non turbo state, Sentras,200SXs,G20s all have SR20s and you need are the turbo factory parts.

They are very light cars, with a stock turbo conversion you can push 300hp and with a after market you can be well over 400hp on a stock motor.

Pretty much the SR20 and the mistu 4G63s are the power houses of the 4cyc turbo world.

One of the guys in my car club has a SR powered 240. It puts out 500rwhp and looks almost completely stock exterior wise, other than the big front mount. With slicks he should be in the 10's

Speaking of swaps, I know I guy who dropped in the supercharged GTP motor out of a Grand Prix into a 88 Fiero GT. It's a fast and sweet little ride. (The GTP motor isn't stock BTW)
