come on. dont pick on the nearly stock 8 year old LS1 running high 13's. Didnt you run like 13.4's when your car was bone stock?? Thought i remember you saying that a long time ago.

13.0 @ 111mph on a 2.4 60' in my Cobra.
13.67 @ 105mph in my LS1.

The difference is that I didn't run my mouth about how slow other
cars were while I was running 13's...and those same cars run
13's.

N/A 4V's don't need FI to run fast...

.. it's certainly cheaper, but it isn't necessary.

It let go RIGHT after a header install at 28K and he spent in the range of 5500 to get THAT NON -blower motor rebuilt and only added a set of Crower cams, maybe a little headwork. I tried to get him to go another route like a 03-04 Cobra motor, but he declined. There will be a vid of our upcoming race sometime later this month, stay tuned.....
With the proper bolt-ons, gears and sticky tires, internally-stock '99 & '01 Cobras have gone basically the same ET/MPH as what's listed in your sig.

The Crower cams might makes things very interesting if your buddy geared his car correctly (4.30's minimum) and if the headwork was done right...

Well he had 3.73 gears installed. His car was only running like 13.7s-13.8s with !cats, magnaflow, and me piloting it, so the driver error would be mute. I'm not worried about him beating me. I know my friend VERY well, I know what the car "could" do if set-up/modded right, anything can be made to be fast. But I know what he "won't" do as well. If he somehow manages to get close, let's just say victory is only the flip of a switch away

Damn, he is clueless if he's got 3.73's in his Cobra - 3.73's are better suited for power-adder cars & N/A GT's.

Give me his contact info & I'll set him straight...

Those same cars are running 13's with a good 60' at 99mph. On a street race like the video, he would take a GT pretty damn good.

Nice kill. I don't get how people could do that many mods to a v8 just to get mid 13s out of it. Especially when a cobra is a pulley/tires away from 11s.
