epic battle Sitting at the light in my wife's 5.0, sipping on a iced coffee from dunkin donuts. cream and sugar, thanks. Groceries in the back. I hear this loud exhaust buzzing to my right.
What do I see:
stickers... bunch of 'em
vynil... of course
big wing.... big
unpainted ground effects
exhaust... ginormous
twenty-sumthin opponent... eminem haircut ... hard *** look
Honda Civic.... grey
it's on!!!! But it's going to be tough.
The light turns green. We take off, 5.0 hooks perfectly. No spin at all, it just takes off. hope we didn't break the eggs! The honda cuts a perfect light, though. He must have been watching the cross walk signal. So this ain't his first dance. He's got skillz. This one is going to come down to driver. End up pulling a fender by the time we hit second and then stay that way until we shut it down. Neither one of gave or took any more than what we had after the 5.0 pulled him in 1st gear.
Honda driver buzzes off to the right. I look over to my wife, who's driving, and looks so calm and collected, you wouldn't even know that she just barely pulled out the kill in a very tough race. She's got ice cofee (cream and sugar, thanks) running through her veins!
Now that the honda owner knows the strength of the Ford Explorer XLT with the 5.0 v8, I'm sure he'll be back better prepared next time. Mayber a bigger wing or a NOS sticker next time.
But we'll be waiting and ready. K&N filter just went in and the groceries came out. I like to keep my mods balanced, focussing on all aspects that can affect performance. A little weight reduction here, a little added air there. Gotta stay one step ahead in this street racing game.
BTW, the eggs were fine. A can of corn did fall out of the bag though and mess up the hot dog buns. If you aint breaking, you aint racing!
