what does it really take to beat an 03 cobra?

the new rims and tires woped me and my dads *** today... them damn 18.5 with a 315 tire was to bad but the damn spacers were what did it.... one side didn't even need a spacer cause it was already out some, then when we put the spacer on the other side it broke the stud, so tomorrow we have to go get some longer ones... but i've been looking into the kit, and i think that is what i'm going to do, i want to put it where the spare tire goes so no one will really know what i got untill u pop the hood... do i really need gears, if i buy the nx kit?

Just run him without any bets. An 8.4 in the 1/8 stock means he's a pretty good driver, and he'd beat you. To run even with a stockish Cobra, you'll need long tubes and preferably true duals. It took those and a lid for me to tie an 03 Cobra with an fipk and exhaust from 40-130. The Cobra also had a passenger, and I didn't. It put down 412 to the wheels a week before I ran it.

when i only had an intake, i ran with an 03 from about 60 to 140, (windows down, top off) with my roommate in the car (240 lbs) and he was barely pulling away.
i heard a few days later the guy has an intake, pulley, and exhaust.
i'm sure i would have kept up if i had the top on and windows up

With those mods, I put down 347rwhp and 351ft lbs, and I also beat an M6 C5 with exhaust and intake by at least 2 carlengths to 120. That Cobra you ran wasn't 100% or the guy couldn't drive.

Intake/exhaust m6 'vette should have between 320-335 to the wheels, 350ish if exhaust includes headers. Either way, not enough for a camaro to pull two lengths, especially at 120mph. Over 80mph corvette has a huge aero advantage. Found that out the fun way against my buddies 2001 T/A. He (m6) gets a jump on me (a4) when we hit it at 60mph. 1OOMPH I catch and pass by 110mph. By 150mph, its UGLY. I probably have about 310 to the wheels, maybe 320 if it was strong from the factory.

Of course, it might have been because you're a good driver!
From a roll or a dig? Dig actually would make since with your hp levels since you could get a jump and he was too far back by 80-90mph.
If from a roll, you definately know what you're doing.
Nice Sig.

I raced an 04(no idea what mods) and he pulled almost a car on me from 30-70 or so. I plan on getting an sts turbo and run at 5psi. How would the same race go then? How about at 7-8psi?
