I got that excuse once I asked the kid how much he paid for his car and he said 8 grand.. I cackled at him and told him he paid 500 more for it than I paid for mine then I go into this long drawn out story on how I had a fast Eclipse for the longest time, I think I mentioned all the mods and gave a play by play on the demise of it from a lady running a stopsign to parting it out then going out to spend $1.50 for a For Sale Sign and putting an add in the paper. Long story short I filled his head with BS for 20 min to tell him he paid more for his car than I did for mine. Which could be true depending on how one looked at the scenario, Poor *** hat listened to every word I said..

What I always get told is that our cars are expensive.
My response is: you get what you pay for.
"Your cars are not fuel efficent"
I reply "not so, your little 100 hp rice rocket may get 40 mpg running without flooring the car. But cruising I can get up to 32 mpg and before you say that is low I am also generating 3 times your horse power and a bag of chips while I'm at it."
"Yo ride diz teh heavy"
I cleary say "My horse power to weight ratio is still even to if not better then yours"
"Your cars do no handle well"
I say " the corvette handles phenomenally, second I didn't buy my T/A for handling I bought it to beat the **** outta most cars in a straight line"
"Our cars can run at higher rpms 8 - 10k"
I say "My car has displacement and torque somthing yours doesn't, I don't need high rpms."
"Your cars wear down fast"
"I suppose around 100k if I beat the **** outta my motor I'd have to replace it but if i don't abuse it i could run the motor to about 150 - 200k seen it done, reliably but then I guess it's better then having to replace it every 10k because of to much boost, headers flying off or godzilla attacking it or whatever the reason was your car was in the shop."
They finally tell me "our cars are cheap"
I reply again "you get what you pay for".
Those are just some of the bull **** things I get gotten a million more.

It depends on who instigated the race.
If a car has significantly more money in it than yours and wants to race, you're probably going to lose, and it's not an excuse.
There's also the posers with 10 second cars running around picking on stock 13 second cars.

Also wanted to comment on how people b*tch about how much money was dumped into a car know that were on the subect on who pays less or more. I hate when people are like " well he spent like 5k or 8K... etc" who cares. Screw how much he paid for his or her mods and the car. If there kicking *** that's all that matters.

Its happened to me to. 4cyl vs 8cyl or your cost more...Its all BS..We mostly drive the cars we want to drive. I'm usually just polite and say "I like all cars that are fun to drive. They all have their own different personalities for everyone to enjoy.... "

LOL. I get that ALL the time from this guy at work. He has a 99 GT with a vortech supercharger on it that can't drive his way out of the 13s. He always says since I have more money into my T/A that he gets to spend that much money on his to be equal. He's just making ricer excuses since my bolt-on T/A went 12.08 to his 13.4 lol and now I have a convertor, heads, and cam ahahahahaha. He still won't race me lol

You need to go back and read the posts, most every person that owns an LS1 when confronted with th efact the 2002 and up NSX runs high 12's said "yea, but it costs 3 times as much".
I just think its comical how people are so hypocritical.

I've yet to see any proof that the nsx runs 12.xx stock. Not that it really matters anyway, because by the time any of those are actually out and about in the hands of people that will actually race them on the street, every ls1 f body in the world will have at least 500 rwhp by then and will **** on that rice-mobile at the drop of a hat.

I’m just waiting to find a Saleen S7 that will race me. After he kicks my *** I can’t wait to tell him that his car cost over 10 times as much as mine. That’ll show him!
