Hey, whats up guys, its me Steve with the GTP! Yeah i figured you didnt think much of my car at first when i first came up to you, but i knew i could get you do run! I saw you when you got on Atlantic from Kernan and ran you down from there! I knew it would be a fairly easy kill "per say" for me. Not taking anything away from your car though! The reason that i didnt run up to a higher MPH was because we were in a 35mph zone and i HATE beach cops! So i figured i'd like let you know that i could pull you and then back out just in case! If you'd like to do it again sometime this week we can do that, its cool with me! My car pretty much pulls hard all around, so i dont care if its from a stop or a 50 roll! Oh and BTW, the reason it shifted to weird was because i was spinning pretty bad and then it bogged a little bit.

As far as mods....blown2k pretty much nailed it....XP cam, Stage 2 I/C, 3200 stall, 3.29 gears, SLP header, borla catback, msd wires, custom intake, custome tune, 2.8 pulley (10.5psi), 19* of timing and then a few other MISC things....no bottle though, although ive been contemplating putting one back on the car at the end of the year! It SHOULD make 320-330whp once i drop another pulley size and get it tuned and then i should be good for low 12's, but its probably mid-high 12's as it sits right now.

lole ice. their are plenty of cobalts running around that would smoke the dog **** out of you . guess that happens when a company soley goes after an aftermarket for one car. their already running in the 11s those cars trap pretty good. their only downside is ofcourse the FWD. but a pair of slicks fixes that. like i said their is no shame in losing to FI cars. i lost to a 1970 something volvo that looked ugly as hell but the guy had it modded. the car stock came turboed. he ran 12.2@110 to my 13 flat.

 

thats cool, i didnt feel that bad, i make around that rwhp give or take a bit....but i deff. need a tune, its running kinda rich with no o2s in the rear and the ses light, along with the shitty low gears, even though with the cutout and manifold it pulls really hard in 4th over 3krpms....i gotta give it to ya ur car was faster then i thought it would be.....as for the beach cops i totally understand, im with a agency up here now, i had already raced a 05 GT on i10 with much better results and i was pushing my luck racing you....i actually know some of the jso guys sittin there at san pablo....i ride out with the river city guys sometimes on the weekends, do you know elmer? (tt ls6 black camaro)....or just cruise to meet up with the girls (what i was doing that night)....

 

yeah i just put 2 and 2 together and realised that you were an officer of some sort, or knew them somehow.....oops! lol that would explain why you got on the gas in front of them! I just thought you were an idiot! lol Why dont you go get some 02 sims for the car? Yeah i raced a new GT from a 50 roll on JTB and absolutly smoked him! It was pretty funny, the guys jaw hit the floor! I love the reaction that i get from everyone when i race them! And i dont even have to beat them, just stay close, and people flip out! Just like i beat a 03 BMW M5 from a stop to 120....i was one car behind him and he nailed it so i did the same and pulled up beside him about 70 and then pull past him and the guy was amazed! Its cool though that you guys and everyone else is cool and respectfull though! Its nice to see that people give respect where it deserves sometimes! But my car feels slow to me, its not tuned, the last time i got dyno'd i was running 10:1 AFR and it was pegged rich and all ive done is drop another pulley size and add some timing since then.

GXPPOWER: i know that there are plenty of cars out there that can beat me! I didnt plan on having the fastest one out there, but i wanted a 4-door car with leather and a little bit of luxury that had a lot of potential! ITs my daily driver so until i buy somethign else itll remain a nice daily driver that gets 22mpg around town! I hate the fast that its FWD, but oh well, what are you gonna do about it! You just work with what you got and this is what i got! lol Do a search and youll find the gtp that runs 9.6 @ 145, along with the 2 other guys that are in the 9's! 1 of which is on a stock bottomend and stock differential (zoomer from zzperformance in the red one). Once i get antoher car then ill do the BIG mods! Infact ive got a set of ported heads that i just took apart and are waiting to get decked and magnafluxed!

 

they probably would have gotten a little pissed at me, if they did decide to pull me, but i dont think much else would have gone on....im 2k onto this new motor and i blew the o2s so its been running in safe for a while, feels like **** between 1500-2000 rpms ive actually never had my car dynod, which i need to cause i really dont think im getting the most out of my car...what color was the m3? and the gt wouldnt have happened to be black and full of teenagers?

 

It was actually an M5, not an M3, and it was black.

The GT had a younger driver (early 20's i guess) and there was only one of them but i cant remember what color it was, but he came onto Hodges Blvd near JTB. I want to say that it was a darker color, like a dark green or red, but i really dont remember....this was months ago before i did the intercooler and a few other mods.

 

yea i had a 06 with 3 teenagers one night try something, i got him by 5 before i let off....you ever ride out to the shows on the weekends?

im ALWAYS at the local meetings: Monday night at 9 at Tinseltown, tuesday night at BJ's at 9, thursday nights at sonic off southside at 9:30, Sat night at BJ's at 9.....im pretty much as most every meet unless i have class, school, or a party to go to.

Here is a video of me vs my buddy AL who has a 98 WS6 with an intake, headers, exhaust and a cam (.595 .598 lift and 232 236 duration at .050). My car is a little slower at the end because we ran 7 times in a row and my I/C started to get heat soaked, but you get the point! I've got plenty of other videos too, mainly with mustangs and stuff, but there is another on that should be on line soon with me against an 01 WS6 that has intake, headers, exhaust that I pull by a half a car from a 40-135ish roll...its a 6-spd too.

Well i just wanted to say thanks to "Staringback05" (i never got your name), for comming out tonight and joining us. Like i said before, Sat. nights are a lot better, but there are still a decent amount of people there on Tuesdays.....

Anyways, back down to business.....We ran again from about a 50 roll i believe and on the first race i wasent paying much attention and he got a little bit of a jump on me, which let him pull a half a car on me and then i reeled him back in and got about a car on him by around 135mph or so.

The next run i ended up leaving a good bit early, i dunno if he didnt hear all 3 honks or what happened, but i ended up letting out almost immediatly.

The last run (50 roll again) we ended up leaving at about the same time and i pulled him by about 1-1.5 cars, which is pretty much what i expected.

So all in all it was a good night! He's a cool guy for comming out and hanging out with us eventhough he had to be up at 6am! We'll have to do it again sometime when he gets more mods done!
