Ok sounds a lil' dumb, but this kid with his p.o.s. Honda wants to race. He's talking about putting all this money on the race, so it got me thinkin does he have a chance? Me I have a stock (other than a K&N filter) 1999 Camaro SS I just got it like a week ago, and I know **** about honda's, so I have no idea what the car is capable of.

have to find out his mods. How familiar are you with your SS? new driver's always have to overcome the 'learning curve'. Some are faster than others.

Unless he has a butt load of cash under the hood, he doesn't stand a chance. he has to be into drag racing, not a typical ricer. typical ricers are not racers.

Ask him about his mods.

BTW is your SS an M6 or A4?

LOL i use to have an old mazda mx3 with a huge 88hp 98tq and ran beside 1 of the 89 Prelude SI. give him and 1/8 mile lead. and see if you can get him to be big $$ lol.

I think he wants to race you because the "what muscle car are you" quiz slotted him as a "68 CAmaro Z28!" and you're the closest he can find...
I suspect you might be your own worst enemy, since you only just got the car you won't be up on how to drive it well yet. With that caveat, the race should be yours. Of course, if he closes his eyes and races you in his "Dream Car" you're in trouble! hehe...
I"m not an expert on those engines but his engine bay looks stock except on that area on the left where it looks like a greasy rag stuck in there you can't really tell. Here is a stock 89 lude engine bay:

a) a true f'ing moron OR
b) hiding something.

He may be going to do a few mods. Then again, it does take a fair amount of $$ and Time to make those things fast, so I just don't see his thinking.
